Private Detective: Couple Arrested After Domestic Violence Call

Two people were arrested in Laurel County after a domestic violence complaint at a home off Ky 1223.

Sheriff John Root said that Deputy Shawn Jackson, Deputy Tommy Houston, and Deputy Taylor McDaniel arrived at the scene and observed a man in the front yard. They say he fled into the residence and the deputies followed.

Once inside, the man fled into a bedroom. As deputies attempted to arrest the man, Sheriff Root said he placed his 13-year-old son between himself and the deputies.

During the arrest, Sheriff Root said that the man punched Deputy McDaniel and head-butted Deputy Jackson. As deputies scuffled with the man, Root says that the man’s wife attempted to interfere with the arrest.
