Private Detective: Lexington Couple Seeking Help After Statue Stolen

A Lexington couple needs help finding a statue with sentimental value that was stolen from their front yard.

The Watsons live the corner of Cold Harbor and Mason Headley Road. On their front lawn is now an empty patch of dirt where a once colorful accent made caught the eye’s of many drivers.

Watson said he and his wife bought a foal statue at a Lexington Horsemania auction several years ago. The foal, named ‘Brave Warrior,’ was painted a Native American theme by Picodome Elementary students

The statue sat next to the family’s gazebo until this week.

“I came out yesterday morning to sit in the gazebo and read the paper and noticed it wasn’t there,” said Jim Watson.

Watson said he called police and filed a report. His wife also posted about it on Facebook and now the whole neighborhood is on watch.

“I don’t know why somebody would do that,” Watson said. “They should have known they couldn’t do anything with it.”

Watson said he’s frustrated but reserving his judgment of the person responsible.

“Bring my horse back,” He said. “I mean, it’d be nice to wake up tomorrow morning and have the horse be right there and I can call the police and say everything is fine.”
