Private Detective Victim Says He was Shot in Mouth

Lexington Police say there are still quite a few questions after a man showed up at a Lexington gas station Tuesday afternoon saying he’d been shot in the mouth.

The man showed up at the Speedway on Broadway and 7th Street at about 1 p.m. Paramedics then picked up the man, whose name has not been released, and took him to UK Hospital.

The man told police he was driving in the area of 6th Street and Limestone, pulled over to make a phone call on his cell phone and was approached by a man who demanded his iPhone and wallet. The victim says the man shoved a small caliber pistol in his face and believes it went off., causing an injury to his mouth.

The victim then drove to the gas station, where he asked for help to call police.

The only description the victim was able to give police of his attacker is that he was a black man, about 6’4′ and he was wearing a gray hoodie.

Police say they had officers driving around the area looking for someone matching that description, but so far no word on any arrests.
