Police are having difficulty identifying a body discovered in a trashcan left on the road in a rural area of Pleasanton last week, a Pleasanton police lieutenant said Wednesday.
The body of a woman was discovered around 11:30 a.m. May 24 in the 11000 block of Dublin Canyon Road, police said.
The Alameda County coroner’s bureau is still working to identify the body found in the garbage bin, Lt. Jeff Bretzing said.

Fingerprints have not revealed anything, Bretzing said.
The woman did have some distinct features, according to Bretzing, including dark hair and blue polish on her fingernails.
She was wearing pajama bottoms and an Old Navy brand shirt, Bretzing said.
The lieutenant said police hope to create a sketch of the woman in the next few days to distribute to the public to help identify her.
Anyone with information about the case has been asked to call Pleasanton police at (925) 931-5100.
