A Trimble County teenager was killed and two others injured in a crash late Monday night.
The incident happened at about 11:20 on Highway 421 South. Upon arrival police say they located the vehicle off the roadway against a tree. Preliminary investigation shows that the car, driven by 16-year-old Mark Bastin of New Castle, was traveling north on Hwy. 421 when the vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a tree.

Bastin was flown by Air Methods to the University of Louisville Hospital where he is in critical condition. A passenger in the vehicle, 15-year-old Darian Davidson of Bedford, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, 17-year-old Justin Russell of Smithfield, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Police say all three teens were wearing seat belts.
