The Nicholas County Sheriff’s office is searching for a missing Nicholas County woman.

Lori Feltz is 58-years-old. She stands approximately 5-feet-tall and weighs 230 pounds. Feltz has red hair and was last seen wearing a knee-length black coat.

Feltz was last seen at 9 a.m. Monday. She is a resident of Hick Hardy Road but suffers from a mental handicap and is unable to communicate. She does wear an identification bracelet with her name and contact information.

A 46-year-old city man was recently convicted of rape and sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.

A Stark County jury found Jack P. Shreve guilty of single counts of rape and gross sexual imposition. He was acquitted of a second rape count.

Shreve sexually abused the young girl earlier this year, said Daniel Petricini, assistant Stark County prosecutor.

DNA evidence and the girl’s testimony led to the conviction, he said. Testifying was difficult and traumatic for the victim, Petricini said. A therapist, police and child sex abuse investigators were also witnesses, he said. The defendant did not testify.

The assistant prosecutor said the victim held up well while testifying about the first rape charge, but was “shutting down” while answering questions about the second rape count. Petricini said he believes that led to the acquittal on one of the charges. The girl was 8 years old at the time of the sexual assaults, according to the prosecutor’s office.

Shreve will not be eligible for release until after serving 15 years in prison. He had rejected a plea offer of 12 years.

During the trial, the defense had questioned the credibility of the girl’s testimony, including earlier sexual misconduct allegations involving another man, Petricini said.

An investigation is underway after a body was discovered in Fleming County.

The body was discovered in the woods by a family visiting a cemetery.

Police say kids were decorating a gravestone and that’s when they found the body.

Authorities believe the body was in the woods for weeks.

Although the body has not been identified, officials say 41-year-old Wesley Mattox has been missing from Flemingsburg for two months.

The body will be taken to Frankfort for an autopsy to be positively identified.

Investigators are gathering clues to find out who stole money from a business.

It happened Friday morning at Beat The Clock Tax Services on the 1200 block of Versailles Road in Lexington.

A person who runs a check cashing business from the location says he was tied up with duct tape, had a gun pointed at his head and was robbed.

A customer inside was also duct taped. According to Lexington police, a search is underway for three male Hispanics who took off in a black Ford Explorer inbound towards the city.

The owner of the store says his wallet and phone were stolen.

Authorities hope nearby surveillance video can help identify the suspects.

Police say that a man armed with a gun robbed the Family Dollar on Richmond Road.

Police describe the robber as wearing all black with a ski mask on.

They say he pointed a gun at the two clerks and took money before leaving out the back.

For the second year in a row, a Boyle County family will be grieving more than celebrating this holiday season. The family of Michael Gorley has not seen its son since he disappeared nearly two years ago.

Lying across Sandra Hasty’s kitchen table are pictures of her son Michael Gorley. To her they’re fond memories, but also reminders he’s not here to make more.

This Thursday, for the second time, Gorley’s family won’t be celebrating his birthday. Gorley would turn 40.

“We would like to have had a big party,” said Jennifer Coffey, his sister. “We won’t get to do that, but we’re going to remember him.”

It’s been 19 months and 5 days since anyone saw Gorley.

Hasty said the last time anyone saw her son, he was in Lincoln County, headed down Knob Lick Road toward Junction City.

State police continue to investigate, but have yet to release any information.

“People say it gets easier, but it doesn’t. it doesn’t,” Hasty said. “I just want to be able to lay my son to rest.”

Hasty said there’s no chance her son ran away. Everything from his ID to shaving cream are still at home.

This mother is begging someone to come forward.

“It’s not fair. it’s not fair,” She said. “How would the parents of the ones involved feel if they had to go through all this?”

Gorley’s family hopes it won’t go through this a day more.

A man is behind bars after police say he cut a person with a knife in the neck.

Vernon Evans, 61, is in the Jessamine County Detention Center on an assault charge.

Police say that an altercation led to the victim being cut in the neck. The victim has non-life-threatening injuries.

Police tell LEX 18 that the victim had been staying at Evans’s house.

Police say that the Subway on East New Circle was robbed Thursday night.

They say that a man and a woman entered the store armed with a knife.

Metcalfe Emergency Management announced that they are looking for a missing teenager.

They say that 15-year-old Destiny Ennis went missing from her foster home on Monday.

They describe her as a white female, 120 pounds, 5’10’’, with shoulder length blonde hair.

Ennis has been reported missing before and was located in the North Metcalfe area.
