One Laurel County man has been arrested after police say he shared images of child sexual exploitation online.

64-year-old Lloyd Wilson was arrested on Thursday around 4:30 p.m. as a result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children Investigation.

The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch started investigating after discovering Wilson was allegedly sharing pictures of child sexual exploitation online. The equipment used in the alleged crime was taken to KSP’s forensic lab for examination.

Wilson was charged with two counts of distribution and three counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. Each charge is punishable by one to five years in prison.

Wilson is currently in the Laurel County Detention Center. Additional charges are expected.

The investigation is ongoing.

One person has been arrested after an armed robbery of a UK student.

According to police, the student was walking from his car to his Campus Courts apartment on Red Mile Road around 7:00 p.m. Thursday when he was approached by a man with a gun.

The suspect took the victim’s keys, wallet, and cell phone. The victim’s keys were later found.

Police tell LEX 18 that the suspect and the victim knew each other.  Police eventually arrested David A. Stephens and charged him with first degree robbery.

Officials say a missing elderly man from Boone County has been found safe, and the Golden Alert has been cancelled.

According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, 87-year-old Charles Wolfe left his house on Limaburg Road in Burlington around 4:00 p.m. on Thursday and went to the Kroger on Northbend Road in Hebron. A Golden Alert was issued when no one could find him.

Family members report Charles has the early onset of dementia, but has not experienced anything like this before.

Wolfe was found safe Thursday around 9:00 p.m. in Union, Kentucky. He is returning to family.

An arrest was made Thursday evening in an attempted robbery in Lexington that resulted in two men being shot.

The incident happened on Red Mile Road back in October and resulted in a lengthy standoff at an apartment complex. Police say the alleged motive behind that violent attack was marijuana. Investigators tell LEX 18 that the apartment was targeted after the suspects heard that the person living there was dealing drugs.

According to an arrest citation, Joseph Jerome Fain is one of four men who barged into the apartment firing shots at the people inside.

Once inside, a witness told police that two people were taken at gunpoint while several others ran for safety. In the midst of the robbery, one victim was shot in the back and was later found by police at a nearby gas station.

One of the alleged robbers was also shot several times. Police believe Joseph Fain dropped that suspect off at the hospital later that night before running off.

Joseph Fain was arrested at the Mason County jail but is now back in Lexington facing a first-degree robbery charge. He’s due in court Friday afternoon.

Demetrioun L. Boaz, another suspect, turned himself in shortly after the robbery.

Kentucky State Police in Dry Ridge are looking for a missing mother and child.

Cheryl Louise Canafax, 33, of Cincinnati was last seen in Pendleton County on Monday. Canafax has her 3-month-old daughter with her.

Canafax was last seen operating a red 2004 Honda Civic with Ohio temporary registration. She has tattoos on her right calf of a Lily, one her left shoulder of Mr. Potato Head, a frog on her back and a tattoo of a rose on her right shoulder.

Police in Jessamine County were investigating a suspicious package that was found at a Nicholasville gas station Wednesday night. It turned out to be a severed deer head.

Officials tell us that a taped-up box was left at a gas pump at the B.P. on Catnip Hill Road sometime around 3 p.m and discovered hours later.

A hazmat team was called to the scene as a precaution before the package was opened, and all the gas pumps were shut down as police made a 300 feet perimeter.

Upon investigation, police discovered a severed deer head was inside the box.

The scene was cleared after they discovered what was inside.

Lexington Police are looking for the person they say stole a man’s car Wednesday night.

It happened around 8:55 p.m on Waterside Drive. Police say a man wearing a black ski mask and hoodie pointed a gun at the victim and demanded his 2014 white Porsche.

According to police, the man took off with the car toward Overlake Boulevard.

A former Virginia Beach-based Navy chief petty officer already behind bars for child rape and sex abuse has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges that he produced and possessed child pornography.

In July, a military judge sentenced Sterlin D. Williams to nine years and 11 months of confinement after he pleaded guilty to charges that he raped and sexually abused a child younger than 12 years old between May and September 2015.

Williams was also reduced in rank to a seaman recruit and will be dishonorably discharged, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic spokesman David Todd said. He is being held in a Navy brig in Miramar, Calif., according to Navy personnel records.

Williams was assigned to Tactical Air Squadron 21, based at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, and worked as an operations specialist, according to Navy records.

The federal indictment, filed Nov. 17 in U.S. District Court for Virginia’s eastern district, said Williams “did knowingly employ, use, persuade, induce, entice and coerce” the child to “engage in sexually explicit conduct” in June and July 2015 and made three videos of the incidents that were stored on a laptop computer.
