Pedophile Tracking Accused Pastor Commits Suicide

LEX 18 has learned that the Indiana pastor accused of driving to Kentucky to have sex with what he thought was a young girl has committed suicide.

Investigators say earlier this month, David James Brown thought he was going to Frankfort to meet a minor he had contacted online.

The minor was actually an undercover investigator with the Attorney General’s Office.

Private Detective: Police Looking for Thief They Say Targets Gyms

Lexington Police are asking the public to help them identify a man they say has targeted gym locker rooms to steal car keys.

Surveillance cameras at Planet Fitness on Bryan Station Road caught a man coming into the gym and going to the locker room. Police say in the locker room he looked for keys.

“This guys MO is he’s gonna open up the lockers that are unsecured, that don’t have padlocks on them.  He’s gonna take the keys out, any kind of valuables that he could find, but he was specifically looking for keys for cars parked out in the parking lot,” said Detective Mark Thomas with the Lexington Police Department.

A little later that same night, police say the same man showed up to the LA Fitness on Wellington Way and, according to detectives, went to the locker room looking for keys.

They say he got away with a laptop and several wallets from inside cars.

“Gyms are one of the hot spots where we tell people, you are specifically vulnerable to these people that like to break into your cars because they know you have valuables in there and they’re going to get them,” said Thomas.

Pedophile Tracking Cheyenne, WY Man Pleads Not Guilty to Numerous Child Porn Charges

A Cheyenne man has pleaded not guilty to 10 counts of possessing child pornography.

Stephan M. Blickhan appeared in Laramie County District Court on Thursday to enter the not-guilty pleas. A trial has been set for September.

Charging documents say the alleged crimes came to light in March 2015 after a Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation agent used a file-sharing network to download a pornographic image of two young boys from a computer linked to Blickhan.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

Agents executed a search warrant at Blickhan’s house in the 600 block of West Second Street in April of last year.

An on-scene preview of a laptop computer and hard drive storage device reportedly showed that the file-sharing network had been downloaded on the computer, and files bearing names consistent with child pornography had been opened using the hard drive.

Blickhan, 36, initially was charged in May 2015 with a single count of sexual exploitation of a child-possessing child pornography.

The Laramie County District Attorney’s Office then filed a motion in August 2015 asking for permission to amend the charging document to reflect multiple images found during the forensic analysis of Blickhan’s electronics.

The motion was granted, and an amended charging document filed the following month charged Blickhan with eight counts of sexual exploitation of a child-possessing child pornography, instead of one.

That case recently was dismissed in light of the 10-count case filed against Blickhan in April of this year.

Each of the counts is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and/or up to a $10,000 fine.

Court documents indicate Blickhan was arrested on the new charges April 11 and waived his preliminary hearing. He was released from custody on a $10,000 surety bond posted May 17.

According to formal charging documents:

Agents also downloaded a pornographic image of a young girl from Blickhan’s computer through the file-sharing network before executing a search warrant at his home.

After being advised of the initial evidence collected at the scene, Blickhan told investigators he used the file-sharing network to look for and download files of child pornography.

He also told agents that March 24, 2015, and March 28, 2015, might have been the last two days he used his computer to download files of child pornography, because his wife worked those nights, and their two children were sleeping.

In May 2015, investigators became aware that Blickhan’s wife turned over what she believed to be Blickhan’s work laptop and an Apple iPad tablet to his workplace.

A forensic analysis of that laptop revealed multiple movies and videos showing pornographic images of children engaging in sex acts with adults.

Children in two of the videos were identified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as known victims in the “Vicki” and “Tara” series.

Private Detective: KY Ag. Commissioner Goes After Credit Card Skimmers

The state of Kentucky is going after those committing fraud at the gas pump as one of the year’s busiest travel weekend approaches.

Today, Kentucky’s Commissioner of Agriculture announced that officials will be cracking down on skimmers at the gas pumps around the state of Kentucky.

Thousands of drivers from out of state will pump gas during the July 4th weekend. To prevent any kind of personal information being stolen, KDA inspectors will have the task of inspecting fuel pumps at every gas station across the state.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

They are specially trained to notice any pumps that have broken security tape or any inconsistencies in their working functions.

“If we do find a skimmer or a pattern of skimmers, that is immediately turned over to a local law enforcement agency and we let them do their job. We’re just another arrow in the quiver in trying to protect against consumer fraud, which accounts for over three billion dollars in losses due to gas pump skimmers alone in the United States,” Commissioner Ryan Quarles told LEX 18.

Recently, a Lexington gas station was targeted. Lexington Police arrested two juveniles they believe are responsible.

They’re warning consumers to pay attention to small details at the pump such as broken seals or doors that may have been pried open.If you see anything suspicious, contact the Kentucky Department of Agriculture at 502-572-0282.
