Private Detective: Man Arrested After Stabbing in Soup Kitchen Parking Lot

Police have caught a man accused of stabbing another man in the parking lot of a soup kitchen.

Investigators tell LEX 18 that before noon Wednesday, two men were involved in some type of disagreement in the parking lot of the Community Soup Kitchen in Rowan County.

The Rowan County Sheriff says the argument escalated until 46-year-old Gary Brickles pulled out a knife.

Jeremy Madden was stabbed in the stomach and flown by air to a West Virginia Hospital.

“There are still people in our office, we are still interviewing witnesses at this time, it is still kind of early in the investigation obviously, there is no known history that has become obvious at this time,” said Sheriff Matt Sparks.

Gary Brickles has been charged with Assault and Tampering with Physical Evidence.

Private Detective: Thieves Return Stolen Items and Leave Apology Note

Thieves in Frankfort had a change of heart after their crime way posted all over Facebook.

Police say that early Sunday morning, one man decided to snoop around the Frankfort Boat Club. He decided to steal a boat and go for a ride, but when he returned, he had visitors with him.

“’They rambled up and down the dock, I guess casing out what they wanted to take,” Rodney Simpson with the Frankfort Boat Club told LEX 18.

After taking a boat out for a joy ride, the four rummaged through houseboats, stealing a TV and other items while covering their faces with towels.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

They took off with the stolen goods, but the items were returned to the boat owner within hours of posting the surveillance pictures on the Franklin County Sheriff’s Facebook Page.

There was also an apology note with the returned items. It read, “I am very sorry. I do not know why I did it in the first place. It’s way out of my character.” It goes on to read, “I am so sorry. It does not make it ok, but it is your stuff, not mine. Again, I am very sorry.”

“I think there were over 5,000 views on Facebook last night. I’m sure they got some phone calls, had a bad night,” said Simpson.

Police have a suspect in mind and they are following up on leads.

Police encourage the suspects to turn themselves in and the manager of the Frankfort Boat Club has a message for the thieves, “Get a job, get a life.”

Insurance Fraud Houston Insurance Agent Sentenced to 20 Years

Houston-based Insurance agent Celia Castillo has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for defrauding seniors of a total of almost $3 million.

According to a statement by the Texas Department of Insurance, investigators built their case against Castillo after they had received consumer complaints regarding the legitimacy of her investment products.

http://liarcatchers.com/insurance_fraud.html

Investigation records revealed that Castillo had created a bank account that she used to divert the investments of her clients, whom she tricked into thinking they were purchasing annuities.

TDI investigator Geneva Titus underscored how treacherous Castillo’s scam was, as the insurance agent carefully chose victims who were not just elderly, but also had no nearby relatives. Records show that most of Castillo’s victims were all over the age of 70, with a couple of them over 80 years old.

“She would really become part of their lives, carefully building relationships with each of these folks,” Titus stated. “She would visit with them, give them rides, have dinner with them  ̶  all with the goal of gaining their trust and eventually stealing their life savings.”

The TDI’s investigators coordinated with Special Assistant District Attorney Jesse McClure on the case.
Castillo begins serving her sentence this month.

Wrongful Death Arrests Made After 2 Bodies Found Near Louisville Home

After sketches were released of two victims found stabbed and burned in an abandoned Louisville home, two people have been arrested.

A woman named Marie Wren told WAVE 3 News that the murder victims were her children, Maurice Gordon and Larry Ordway. The two teens were only 14 and 16 years old. Other family members said that one of them was an honor roll student and the other was starting to go down the wrong path.

The teens’ mother has gotten hundreds of posts on her Facebook page. Many of the posts are supportive; Several others are critical asking why the boys were not reported missing.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

WAVE 3 News reports that an arrest has been made in the double homicide. Brice Rhodes has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to their deaths. A motive has not been released. A juvenile co-defendant has also been arrested.

In a news conference, police say that Rhodes murdered the boys elsewhere and disposed of their bodies at the home. Police believe he  may have been a family friend who had a relationship with the teens.

In addition to the two murder charges, Rhodes is also facing charges of abusing a corpse and is also charged in another murder of a man named Christopher Jones earlier this month.

According to a post on Wren’s FB page, she claims her children were in the car when Rhodes killed someone but police would not confirm if the boys witnessed a murder or if so, if that was the murder of Christopher Jones. They would only confirm that they were investigating other motives.

Missing Person Relisha Rudd Still Missing After Two Years

It’s been two years since Relisha Rudd went missing. As time passes with no sign of her, the question remains: where is Relisha Rudd?

Relisha Rudd was last seen on March 1 with her alleged abductor Khalil Tatum, 51, a janitor who worked at the homeless shelter Relisha and her mom lived in.

Just days after Relisha’s disappearance in 2014, her stepfather posted photos on Facebook, flaunting a new cell phone, expensive shoes and large stacks of money.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Images of these expensive goods made many people wonder if the Relisha was sold into child sex trafficking — it’s a lucrative industry worth over $100 million in Washington D.C. alone.

“Those images are things that alarmed us.” said Natalie Wilson, co-founder of the Black and Missing Foundation. She believes Relisha was groomed into sex child sex trafficking.

“We know that the DMV is a hub for sex trafficking and we are seeing an increase in the number of kids from homeless shelters and foster care that are being lured into sex trafficking,” said Wilson.

“One of the working theories was that she was sold into child sex trafficking; even possibly down in Atlanta Georgia. Obviously, that has not been proven but that is what a lot of people were thinking could have been the case,” said Nikki Burdine, a WUSA9 Reporter who covered Rudd’s disappearance in 2014.

Child sex trafficking victims are often transported far from their homes and isolated from family and friends, forcing them to depend on the person victimizing them. Traffickers force drug use and use emotional manipulation, violence, and abuse to control their victims.

The average age for entry into child sex trafficking is between 12 and 14 years old. Relisha was only 8 years old when she went missing, but it is not uncommon for children as young as 5, 6, or 7 years old to be exploited.

There is also a large possibility that Rudd was murdered by Tatum.

Relisha was not reported missing until March 19 when her school officials notified police that she missed 30 days of school.

Tatum’s wife was found dead by a gunshot wound to the head on March 20. Days later, Tatum was found dead in Kenilworth Park. He shot himself, taking everything he knew about Relisha to the grave.

“I can’t help but feel for Relisha’s family. They are left with so many questions…they don’t know where their little girl is and they don’t know if she is ever coming home,” said Burdine.

“We like to hold onto hope that she is still alive until there is a body that would lead us to believe otherwise,” said Wilson. Her organization that brings awareness to missing children of color. Visit www.bamfi.org to see images of missing children. If you recognize any of the kids, you can make a report and help bring a child home.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the location and return of missing 8-year-old Relisha Rudd. If you have any information concerning this investigation, please contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI FREE, or the nearest FBI office.

If you or someone you know is a victim of trafficking, you can get help by contacting the National Human Trafficking hotline. The number to call is 1-888-3737-888 FREE.

Missing Person Missing WI Mom and Sons Found Safe in Georgia

Authorities in Wisconsin said Thursday that the mother who vanished with her three sons after she rented a van two weeks ago were found ‘safe and sound’ in Savannah, Ga.

Lt. Ed Gritzner of Lake Geneva police told FoxNews.com that Michalene Melges and her sons were first spotted by a person who recognized the family from news reports. Authorities from Lake Geneva contacted police in Savannah, who were able to positively identify the family.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

“I can confirm that they are safe and sound,” Gritzner said.

The Chicago Tribune reported that Melges, 40, had called her sons’ school earlier this month and asked administrators that her sons be excused from May 10 through 13.

(Michalene Melges, 40, Hans Melges, 14, Maverick “Buddy” Melges, 10, and Kristian “Max” Melges, 12.)

She rented a van on May 9 in Lake Bluff, Ill. What happened in-between is a mystery, but the van was returned to a rental company in Plano, Texas. The workers there said they never saw the family.

The four were last seen leaving their home in Lake Geneva, outside of Milwaukee. Their phones and her credit cards have not been used since the disappearance.

The sons were identified as Hans, 14, Kristian, 12 and Maverick, 10.

Melges is divorced and is reportedly in violation of child custody rules, authorities said. Authorities said foul play is not suspected. Police also said there is no evidence that she is keeping her children from her husband.
