Private Detective: Man Arrested in Connection with July Gas Station Robbery

Lexington Police have caught up with the man they say robbed a Lexington gas station last month.

18-year-old Quantaveon Leavell is accused of robbing the Shell station on South Broadway on July 24. The store clerk says two men came into the business armed with guns and demanded money.

After running away, police say they saw a car matching the description of the getaway vehicle, a Toyota Corolla. After a short chase, police say the suspects crashed into a fence on Picadome Golf Course. The vehicle’s occupants ran away. Police say two juveniles were in the car.

Leavell was identified by his co-defendants as one of the men who entered the Shell armed with a gun. He was arrested Friday and will appear in court Monday morning to answer to a charge of first degree robbery.

The juvenile defendants have also been arrested and charged in connection to the robbery.
