Pedophile Tracking KY Man Gets Jail Time In TX

A Kentucky man who sexually abused an 11-year-old Houston-area girl over the internet has been sentenced to prison time in Texas.

Anthony O’Shea was given a three-year term earlier this month, after his probation was revoked.O’Shea met the girl online, where the two would interact using the Playstation 3 video console.

The then-24 year old man enticed the pre-teen to send racy photos of herself. He used those pictures as leverage to extract hard-core pornographic poses.

It’s called “sextortion.” Former prosecutor Eric Devlin says it happens more than you might think. “Nowadays, with these (game) consoles, any predator can almost walk in your front door,” said Devlin, now a technology consultant with Attorney Tech Services of Houston. “And they do it through this electronic console that parents don’t usually understand.”

Devlin says the O’Shea case was a “first of its kind.” Law enforcement officers brought the suspect from Kentucky to face charges in Harris County. Originally, O’Shea was given probation. But on February 6, a judge ordered him to serve his time in Texas prison.

Private Investigator Lexington Man Sentenced to 96 Months for Bank Robbery

COVINGTON, KY—A federal judge sentenced a Lexington, Kentucky man to 96 months in prison for robbing a bank in Maysville, Kentucky, in May of last year.

U.S. District Judge Danny C. Reeves sentenced 36-year-old Patrick Andrew Donald Tuesday for bank robbery.

Donald previously admitted that he and an accomplice robbed the Security Trust Bank in Maysville, Kentucky, on May 16, 2012. According to testimony at Donald’s sentencing hearing, the two men entered the bank dressed in winter clothing and demanded money from three tellers. Donald’s accomplice insinuated that he had a gun and used his hand to conceal a metal object in his coat pocket. The accomplice then repeatedly pounded the counter in front of the tellers with this object as he demanded money.

Under federal law, Donald must serve at least 85 percent of his prison sentence and will be under the supervision of the U.S. Probation Office for three years following his release.

Kerry B. Harvey, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky; Perrye K. Turner, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Louisville Field Office; Ronald Rice, Chief of Police, Maysville Police Department; and Ronnie Bastin, Chief of Police, Lexington Fayette Urban County Government jointly, jointly announced the sentence.

Missing Person Police Test DNA Testing on SUV in Disapperance of Casey County Man

Police now have permission to test the DNA on a key piece of evidence in the investigation into what happened to a 55-year-old Casey County man.

Charles Randolph went missing nearly three and a half years ago. Now the Kentucky State Police lab will test the DNA found in the SUV Randolph is believed to have been in the night he vanished on October 15, 2009.

Despite the cold wind, on this February day, sisters Shirley Austin and Freda Elmore stand outside on their brother Charles Randolph’s porch on 18 Cochran Road.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

The sisters, both widows, are braving the elements outside a home they haven’t been able to enter for more than three years to help bring forth the truth.

“It could be somebody we know. Maybe somebody we know well,” says Freda Elmore.

They are reacting to news that after more than three years of investigating, Kentucky State Police received a court order, signed February 6th, 2013, to do DNA testing on a 1995 white Ford Explorer that a witness told police Randolph was last seen in the night he vanished. Police can now test swabs of DNA they recovered from four areas of the SUV: the upper section of the middle backseat, the bottom of the middle backseat, the backseat, and the rear passenger side seat near center line.

“I’m just hoping and praying that something will come of it. That the DNA will show Charles was in the vehicle,” says Shirley Austin, Randolph’s sister.

The catch is the testing could destroy the evidence. It appears to be worth it. The court order says all other investigation has been exhausted. The owner of the SUV is reportedly considered a person of interest.

After searches of ponds and cisterns in the Yosemite area last year turned up nothing, Charles Randolph’s sisters are wary but hopeful.

“Whoever’s out there please come forward,” pleads Elmore.

There is a $10,000 reward being offered for information that leads to Randolph’s discovery. You can leave an anonymous tip with the Casey County Sheriff’s Office at 606-787-6821.

Wrongful Death Plea Deal Signed in Johnson County Couple’s Murder

A “person of interest” in the case of a murdered Johnson County couple has signed a plea agreement.

Larry and Sandy Blanton hadn’t been seen or heard from since September 2012. Friday night, their bodies were found buried on their property.

Amanda Fannin, the girlfriend of the couple’s son, Willie Blanton has signed a plea agreement in the case.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

According to court documents obtained by LEX 18, Fannin says “she played no role whatsoever in the deaths…” and that she has information that would “enable the Commonwealth to prosecute [Willie] Blanton for causing the deaths of his parent, Larry Blanton and Sandra Blanton, and for concealing their remains.”

The terms of the agreement would mean Fannin cannot be prosecuted for crimes she may have committed after learning of the deaths. There’s also an “agreement to never seek the death penalty for [Willie] Blanton.” Blanton is already in jail, accused of filling his parents’ prescriptions and forging their checks.

Willie Blanton talked to LEX 18 after the couple disappeared, when he was labeled a “person of interest.” He proclaimed his innocence and was in tears saying, “I’ve been told they think I did something with them.”

Under the terms of the agreement, Fannin must provide all information surrounding the disappearance, manner of death, and burial of the Blantons. She could still be charged if she’s found to have left out important information, lied, or to have been involved in murdering the couple.

Insurance Fraud Spooner, WI Woman Accused

A Spooner, Wis., and St. Paul resident is accused of forging documents and stealing the identity of a deceased client with the purpose of taking at least $46,769 from his estate.

Linda A. Brost, 61, was charged Tuesday in Ramsey County District Court with six felony counts, including insurance fraud, theft by swindle and identity theft. Brost was arrested Tuesday morning when the Minnesota Department of Commerce Insurance Fraud Division — assisted by the St. Paul

http://liarcatchers.com/insurance_fraud.html

Police Department, Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office and Washburn County Sheriff’s Office — executed search warrants at her St. Paul and Spooner residences.

According to the criminal complaint:

Brost was hired by Arthur Fischbach to draft his last will and testament. After his death in 2005, Brost used a fraudulent document in an attempt to access about $140,000 in Fischbach’s account. The attempt resulted in the Supreme Court of Minnesota suspending Brost’s license to practice law.

In 2010, Jackson National Life Insurance sent letters to Fischbach using Brost’s address to notify him that his annuities were nearing their maturity date. Jackson National received two signed validity letters, one for each policy, purportedly signed by Arthur Fischbach and witnessed by Brost. In 2011, Brost created a checking account for the Trust of Arthur Fischbach with herself identified as trustee. Brost later created an e-mail address to communicate with Jackson National, first for direct deposit of the monthly annuity payments and later to request information for full surrender of the annuity.

The Commerce Department uncovered Brost’s actions during a routine review of information provided by Jackson National.

“We take financial fraud very seriously and this criminal scheme is no exception,” Ramsey County Attorney John Choi said in a news release. “I want to thank the Minnesota Department of Commerce’s Insurance Fraud Unit for their diligence and hard work to bring this case forward.”
