Private Detective: Two Men Knocked Pastor Unconscious During Craigslist Cell Phone Sale

Police are looking for two men who knocked a Connecticut pastor unconscious while while he was trying to buy a cellphone through Craigslist outside his Hartford church, according to police.

The pastor, Louis Borges, 54, sustained minor injuries during the “crooked Craigslist transaction” outside his church, Assembleia De Deus at 106 New Park Ave., around 4:24 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Borges reported that he had arranged to buy a cellphone for $400 off Craigslist outside the Portuguese church where he serves as head pastor. He met the seller on the sidewalk and when the pastor turned over the money, a second man came up and punched the victim in the head. Both suspects then ran off with the money and the phone. Witnesses reported the suspects fled the area in a gray Chrysler Sebring.

When police arrived, they found the pastor on the ground, disoriented.

The victim was transported to Hartford Hospital and treated for minor injuries. A fellow pastor at the church said Sunday that he’s still in the hospital, but doing better.

Police say the first suspect is described as male, approximately 5 feet six inches tall, 20-25 years old, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt that read “FLY” across the front. The second suspect is described as male, 140-160 lbs, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sneakers and black sweatpants.

Anyone with information should contact Hartford police.

Hartford police remind the public that the department offers its parking lot as a safe place to meet someone for transactions arranged through social media sites like Craigslist.

Pedophile Tracking McQueeney, TX Man Gets 55 Years

A 61-year-old McQueeney man was sentenced to 55 years in prison for sexually abusing a child and indecency with a child on Wednesday.

It took a Guadalupe County jury less than an hour to convict James Glessner on a charge of continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14 and two counts of indecency with a child by exposure.

Glessner went to 25th Judicial District Judge Bill Old for his sentence, who gave the man 35 years on the charge of continuous sexual abuse and 10 years each on both charges of indecency.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

“Because it was continuous sexual assault of a child, he will have to do 25 years before he is eligible for parole,” District Attorney Heather McMinn said. “With the defendant’s age, he will more than likely spend the rest of his life in prison. Old’s sentence of 35 years is a fair verdict in this case.”

Glessner was arrested in July 2012 for indecency with a child after an outcry was made that he had exposed himself repeatedly to a young girl, Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Investigator Wayne Lehman said.

“We got a report from a father saying that his daughter made an outcry,” he said. “They went to CPS (Child Protective Services), and we took the report. The little girl outlined numerous encounters.”

Investigators obtained enough information for the DA’s office to pursue other charges, including the more serious continuous sexual abuse of a child, Lehman said.

“During the course of the investigation several sexual related offences were detected; however, we only obtained one arrest warrant at the time,” he said.

Over the course of three days, jurors heard testimony from numerous witnesses — including the victim, Assistant District Attorney Terri Laird said.

“She had a really hard time testifying against him, but Christy Williams did such a great job of interviewing that the she was able to build a rapport with the child and make the child comfortable enough to be able to do that,” she said. “She made the victim feel safe and comfortable in the environment and was able to tell her story.”

Because of close proximity of the child and the suspect living in the same area, Laird said the family moved to help overcome the trauma.

“The hardest thing has been that this family has moved out of state because of this and to put this behind them,” she said. “They haven’t been back for three years. It was very hard on them, very difficult for the victim to feel comfortable testifying about it. The collateral damage is another one of those consequences that people don’t think about. You have not only the mental damage to the victim but to the entire family.”

McMinn commended the sheriff’s office and the Children’s Advocacy Center for the work they put into the case.

“The hard work and dedication of the Children’s Advocacy Center, Christy Williams and Sheriff’s Investigator Wayne Lehman was evident in this case,” she said. “Terri Laird and Allison Lanty worked extremely hard in preparing and prosecuting this case.”

Lehman agreed saying everybody worked well together to bring justice to the victim.

“I was extremely satisfied with the outcome of the trial,” he said. “In the beginning, the investigators did an outstanding job getting the facts to the DA’s office, and they did an incredible job representing those facts and the jury did an outstanding job listening to all of the facts.”

Missing Person Whitney Copley of Russell County

A Russell County family spent the day scouring farmland, woods and creeks looking for 24-year-old Whitney Copley who has been missing for 10 days. Saturday was the first day police and rescue squads have joined family in the search.

The 24-year-old Russell County mother of two was last heard from on the morning of September 30th. Her sister says Whitney Copley sent several Facebook messages to her family members.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

“They were all just ‘hey what’s up?’  And she’d even sent one to my nephew that said ‘hey what’s up I really need to talk to you,’ and that was the last contact we had with her,” said Teresa Meyer, Whitney’s sister.

After more than a week of asking around and waiting for answers, they decided to take the next step forward.

“This morning, I was like you know, it’s been long enough we need to get out searching,” said Meyer.

Search crews from both Casey and Russell counties showed up, state troopers and plenty of concerned family and friends began their search where they believe she was last seen.

So far, their difficult search today has turned up nothing.

“There’s a lot of farmland a lot of soybean fields and they are terrible to walk through and there’s a lot of creek bottoms down through here,” said Meyer.

Whitney was last seen in the area of the Dogwalk Market along 127. KSP is asking people in this area to give them a call if they’ve seen anything suspicious in the area over the last 10 days.

Right now, the family says they’re in desperate need of either closure or a miracle.

“If anybody knows anything, or has any idea what may have happened or where she might be if she’s still out there we beg you to let us know,” said Meyer.

If you have any information, call police.

Bank managers say they were open and had customers in the building when the man came through the front doors. The tellers quickly complied with his demands for cash before he ran off. Police say Sanders’ vehicle was parked at another business down the road.

Information from witnesses later helped officers track the vehicle into Harrison County.

Missing Person Boys Found Safe At Red River Gorge

On Friday night two small boys were safely back with their families, after going missing for 20 hours in the Red River Gorge. Once the cousins were found, it was an emotional reunion at Koomer Ridge Campground.

“I never want to let him go, I missed him,” said Julia Esposito as she hugged her five-year old son, Michael.

Michael is back in his mother’s arms, after he and his seven-year old cousin, Adrian Ross, had an adventure of a lifetime.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

“What was the best part of your adventure?” asked Julia, while she and Michael were interviewed by Cincinnati’s FOX19. “Sleeping haha,” said Michael. “Under a tree.”

The two young cousins were forced to spend the night in the wilderness of the Red River Gorge, all alone, after they went missing while playing a game of hide and seek Thursday evening.

“We saw everything. I saw the cliff edge,” said Michael.

While Julia got the kids version of a night in the woods, it was a different story as hundreds of rescuers poured in looking for the kids in the cliff ridden, dangerous terrain.

“Just as I was walking up the drain, I would continue yelling their names,” said Kelly Moore with the Daniel Boone National Forest.

As rescuers searched and scoured the rough terrain, the childrens’ parents said it was a race against the clock to find the boys before the rain started.

“So I just kept praying find them before the rain, and 30 minutes before the rain that’s when they were found. So it’s just like God was with them the whole time,” said Julia.

Answered prayers, in the form of rescuers, who found the kids far away from the campsite.

“I was just asking them if they were okay, if they were hurt. And Michael was saying, no we are alright,” said Moore.

Despite a few cuts and bruises, the boys were fine and just a little hungry. When asked what they had to eat while they were missing, Michael said “sticks.” Then Michael said the sticks tasted good.

Now with full tummies, and in safe hands, the family is finishing up their camping trip forever grateful.

“Tell all the rescuers thank you,” said Julia. “Thank you,” added Michael.

The families plan to spend the next two days at the Red River Gorge, but are staying on Friday night.
