Pedophile Tracking Tampa Man Arrested

A 20-year old man was arrested Tuesday in Tampa on a St. Johns County warrant on multiple counts of lewd and lascivious battery on a minor, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives began investigating after a man met a 13-year old Ponte Vedra Beach girl last month, the Sheriff’s Office said. The investigation revealed that the two met online last year, then the man traveled to the girl’s home in December and had sex, according to the warrant.

Ramirez was located by the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force and booked into the Hillsborough County jail on $60,000 bail, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Private Detective: Attempted Kidnapping in Edgewood

Police in Edgewood say that a 10-year-old girl did exactly what she was supposed to after a stranger attempted to kidnap her.

It happened on Monday. The girl told our sister station WLWT that she had been taught how to handle these types of stranger danger. The girl told a reporter that she had walked her cousin home when a man pulled up in a white van alongside her on Roundhill Court.

“I felt something grab at my arm and said, ‘Come with me your mother’s in the hospital. You need to come see her.’ I said, ‘Well that can’t really be right because my mom’s behind bars.’ And he’s like, ‘Oh, I meant your dad.’ And pulled my arm closer and said, ‘Get in the car with me now.’ So I just kind of took off running,” the girl told WLWT.

A neighborhood friend called 911 after the girl told him what happened. The girl told police that the driver sounded young and that the van was square-bodied and looked like a work van.

The girl’s stepmother told WLWT that they had frequently talked about stranger danger but she had hoped the girl would never have to use the lessons.

“I can’t believe it actually happened. You talk about it and you think about it but you don’t think that’s going to happen to your child. It was scary,” the stopmother told WLWT. “I told her I was very, very proud of her.”

An elementary school is less than half-a-mile from where the incident happened.

Missing Person Body of Harrison Twp., OH Mom Found

While the cause of death for a 23-year-old Harrison Twp. mother is still unknown, her family said Friday they have no doubt someone harmed her.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office confirmed human remains found by road crews on Post Town Road in Trotwood Thursday were that of Amber Owens. However, they ruled the cause of death as “pending” because results of a preliminary autopsy were inconclusive. Results from a full autopsy are expected to be available in six to eight weeks, officials said.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

“There is a numbness, there is a ‘what am I going to do now?’ kind of feeling,” Owens’ grandmother Bette Roebuck said of her granddaughter. “We know that we will never see her again, but we have memories. … These things we don’t forget. We miss her from Day 1, but knowing that she’s not coming back, that’s hard.”

Owens never reported to work at Waffle House on Oct. 21, and three days later her family filed a missing person’s report. Her twin sister, Alicia, was the last person known to have seen Owens. She said the two parted ways after attending a party on Genesse Avenue. The mother of three never would have abandoned her kids, Alicia said, which is why she always suspected something happened to her.

“She went missing Tuesday and when I woke up Wednesday morning I just felt every nerve in me going off,” Alicia Owens said. “I knew something happened to my sister. I just didn’t know what.”

Owens’ vehicle was found abandoned on Arlene Avenue in Dayton on Nov. 4, but there was no sign of Owens. Investigators used fingerprints to identify Owens’ remains, which they said had decomposed. While Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office detectives initially said Owens’ disappearance was suspicious, they haven’t indicated that her death is being investigated as a homicide. There’s also no suspect information.

Family members said they suspect foul play in Owens’ death, and indicated she was involved in some volatile relationships. They hope someone will come forward with information that could help detectives determine what happened to her.

“They will be found. You know the Bible says, ‘vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord,’ and… that person is going to come to grips with what they have done,” Roebuck said.

But knowing her sister is gone has brought little comfort to her twin, who said she “lost her other heart,” when Amber died. It’s a pain she said even justice cannot mend.

“I can’t move on, I’m just stuck here,” she said through tears. “It won’t help at all because it’s not going to bring her back.”

Private Detective: 5 Out of 9 Indicted For Pappy Van Winkle Heist Arrested

Five of the nine people indicted for stealing and selling the rare and expensive Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon were booked into the Franklin County Regional Jail Tuesday night.

In a news conference Tuesday afternoon, Sheriff Pat Melton said that two of the the suspects, Toby Curtsinger and Christopher Preston worked with a Wild Turkey employee, Sean Searcy, to steal tens of thousands of dollars worth of bourbon.

Sheriff Pat Melton said that booze was only a part of their plan, “You had the steroid side, and the bourbon side,” he said. “The tentacles go out to different folks…all interconnected.”

Jail officials say each of the five arrested Tuesday were released from the jail shortly after posting bond.

Several others have yet to be arrested, and the Sheriff said that more indictments could be handed down in the future.

Private Detective: 9 Indicted in Pappy Van Winkle Heist

Detectives with the Franklin County Sheriff’s tell LEX 18 that nine people have been indicted in a bourbon heist that has garnered international attention.

Nine people, including an employee of Wild Turkey and two employees of Buffalo Trace Distillery have been indicted in an organized crime ring which sheriff’s officials say goes back to 2008.

Officers are investigating at least one employee from the Wild Turkey Distillery who they believe helped Gilbert “Toby” Curtsinger steal at least five barrels of bourbon. Sheriff’s officials say these alleged thefts may have been going on for years and that Curtsinger was the ringleader.

Curtsinger’s wife Julie was also indicted. Others indicted are as follows: Mark S. Searcy, Ronnie Lee Hubbard, Dusty H. Adkins, Christopher L. Preston, Joshua T. Preston, Shawn Ballard and Robert McKinney. The indictment calls them a “criminal syndicate.”

Sheriff Pat Melton said the nine accused people met each other playing softball.

Deputies also say that easily more than 300 bottles of Pappy were stolen and sold over the years for $800 a bottle

There are also charges related to the trafficking of anabolic steroids.

In October 2013, a large amount of Pappy Van Winkle was stolen from the Buffalo Trace Distillery. Officials have recovered several bottles of the stolen Pappy that are linked to Curtsinger.

Curtsinger was a Buffalo Trace Distillery employee.

The sheriff’s office will hold a press conference at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
