Private Detective. Additional Info on Blind Man Held Against His Will

Investigators said a blind man was held against his will in Taylor County. However, he turned the tables and now two people are under arrest.

Wallace Faulkner said he may be blind, but when in danger he was quick to see an opportunity to save his life. “Thank you Jesus, it’s a blessing that I can’t see,” said Faulkner.

He said that blessing gave him the strength he needed Tuesday afternoon, when a friend targeted him for money.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

“She said you want to go riding? like that, I said yeah,” said Faulkner.

Campbellsville Police said 26-year-old Nikita Looper and a teenage girl picked up Faulkner from his home on Indian Trail. He said after a few minutes they stopped for gas and the two women asked to borrow his phone. Then he said a strange man asked for a ride, got in the car and the group started driving.

Faulkner said the women turned the music up very loud, then the teen began asking him for money. When he refused, Faulkner said the other man asked the women what was going on? That’s when investigators said the teen told the unidentified man the plan. Finally, Faulkner said he asked Looper to explain, but he never expected the answer.

“I’m being robbed. I need to go and get $500 dollars from the ATM machine,” said Faulkner. He said the women threatened to accuse him of rape and the man threatened him too.

“The guy said, why not kill him?” said Faulkner. “I started feeling scared and helpless then, cause I mean what could I do? What could I do? I’m blind.”

Faulkner didn’t know where they were, plus the doors had child locks and he didn’t have his walking stick. Still, he didn’t give up.

“Just don’t panic and try to get away with your life,” said Faulkner. After driving around for at least an hour, Faulkner said he convinced the group to stop at a gas station and go inside to get the money. That’s where he planned to ask for help

“I started praying, I started praying and it seemed like I just stayed calm,” said Faulkner.

They stopped at the Marathon off Broadway in Campbellsville. Once his door was open, Faulkner said Looper walked him to the ATM. That’s where he demanded his phone back and went for help.

“I just turned around and yelled help, help. I have been kidnapped, I just got away help,” said Faulkner.

He said at first the cashier thought he was crazy, and Looper acted like Faulkner was mentally handicapped. Eventually, Faulkner said he was able to call 911 and although the two women ran away, they were arrested.

Investigators said Looper and the teenager are both charged with unlawful imprisonment. Campbellsville Police said they are still trying to identify the man who was also in the car.

Wrongful Death Pulaski Co. Sheriff’s Office Seek Answers in Hit and Run Case

Nearly two months after a man was found dead on the side of a Pulaski County road, there are still no leads. The Sheriff’s office say they’ve received very few tips in the death of Ricky Meredith.

45-year-old Ricky Meredith’s body was discovered by a crew working along Highway 452. Investigators say Meredith was the victim of an apparent hit and run. Still, months later, exactly how this all played out remains a mystery.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Shortly after learning of her son’s death, Betty Jones begged for answers.

“If they would just come forward and tell me what happened to him, that’s all I want to know,” said Jones in tears.

That hasn’t happened and there are still many questions in the case.

Some of the information investigators say they have comes from Meredith’s girlfriend. She told deputies that Meredith left their home the night of Sunday, July 6, walking toward Highway 27. Sometime after that, deputies say Meredith was hit by a vehicle and the driver kept going, maybe unaware of what actually happened.

“Given the darkness of the night, this person may have been on the edge of the roadway, possibly even have fallen down, so he would’ve been low to the ground it’s possible that someone could’ve struck him without even seeing him,” says Lt. Brett Whitaker.

The few tips they have received have led nowhere.

“We don’t know who this vehicle is or who this driver was so this would be a difficult case to solve without the public,” says Lt. Whitaker.

If you do have any information that you believe could help investigators, contact the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office

Private Detective. Woman and Teen Arrested in Alleged Kidnapping

A woman and a teenager are behind bars after they allegedly tried to steal money from a Campbellsville man on Tuesday.

Campbellsville police say 26-year-old Nikita Looper and a teenage girl were arrested after they asked a man to withdraw money from an ATM or they’d call police and accuse him of rape.

Police say Wallace Faulkner told them he was home when Looper contacted him and asked if he wanted to “take a ride.” After a 2-hour car ride, they stopped at a gas station where a man asked if they’d give him a ride. The man got in the car with the two and that’s when police say he started making threats to Faulkner.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

At this point, a 16-year-old girl got involved and the two females told Faulkner to take $500 out of an ATM or they’d accused him of raping them.

Faulkner said he’d go to a convenience store to use the ATM there. Once inside, he told the clerk he was being robbed and asked them to call police.

Looper and the teen were arrested and charged with unlawful imprisonment first degree.

The identity of the man involved is still under investigation.

The victim was not hurt.

Private Detective, Woman Accused of Trying to Sell Baby Pleads Guilty

A Hardin County woman accused of trying to sell her baby has pleaded guilty.

According to court documents, police say Leeanna Brown tried to sell her then newborn daughter twice. Investigators said she first offered to sell the baby for $5,000, but the deal fell apart. She then gave the baby to her cousin.

Police say Luonda Martin showed up at the police station in December 2013, saying her relative had given her custody of the infant, but that the birth mother now wanted the child back. Investigators say Martin thought she was adopting the baby. But police say Brown wanted something in exchange for her baby, asking Martin to pay court costs and fines for a pending case.

As part of the plea deal, Brown will terminate her parental rights and could face up to two years in prison.

Private Detective, Unidentified Falling Metal Piece Falls Into Pool

Many people spent their Labor Day in the pool or on the lake. That’s what one Rockcastle County couple was doing when something fell out of the sky.

It’s a Labor Day that Sam and Dana Hamilton won’t be forgetting any time soon. They were both enjoying a day off on Monday. Dana was out floating in their pool when she says she heard a whistling sound followed by a big splash next to her.

She went and got her husband Sam and they fished a piece of metal out of the pool.

The metal piece isn’t very big, but the edges of it are sharp.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

“It came within inches of my head and I had actually just been in the spot that it hit. And the rate that it was coming down, and with it being metal… if it had hit me, it could have really hurt me or possibly killed me,” she said.

Now the million dollar question is what is it and what did it come off of?

The only thing the Hamiltons can think of is that it’s a piece that fell off a plane. They plan to contact the FAA in hopes of finding out.

LEX 18 sent the pictures to Mustang Aviation at Blue Grass Airport, but unfortunately, they were not able to say much about it.

Wrongful Death Triple Homicide in South Kansas City Neighborhood

Kansas City police found a vehicle missing from the scene of a south Kansas City triple homicide Tuesday afternoon, hours after a suspect fled the shooting.

A police commander found the vehicle early Tuesday evening in the 7700 block of N.W. Prairie View Road. That discovery prompted a lockdown of several nearby schools and the cancellation of evening activities while police searched for the suspect. The lockdown was lifted about 7:15 p.m.

Police found the vehicle while looking for a suspect in another crime that occurred Tuesday afternoon about four blocks away.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

A police spokesman shortly before 8:30 p.m. said it was unclear whether the man involved in the assault at the Northland motel was the same person suspected in the triple killing nearly 30 miles away two hours earlier.

That motel crime was reported about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday. Three guests of a Motel 6 in in the 8200 block of N.W. Prairie View said they were physically assaulted by a suspect who didn’t use a weapon and fled on foot.

Police said they could not confirm if the two incidents are connected, but because the vehicle taken from the homicide scene was found nearby they released a description of the motel assault suspect.

He was described as a black man in his late 20s or early 30s. He is about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He was unshaven and was wearing dark pants, a black rag on his head and no shirt.

Many Kansas City officers flocked to the area of Interstate 29 and Barry Road searching for the suspect. Extra officers went at area events and gatherings to provide additional security.

Anyone who may have seen the suspect or has information about either crime is asked to call police or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.

Much of the area near Interstate 29 and Barry Road along NW Prairie View Road was blocked off early Tuesday evening as police continued their manhunt for the suspect. Police tape cordoned off a second-floor room at the Motel 6 in the neighborhood shortly before sunset Tuesday night and several police cars were roaming the area.

Earlier Tuesday a quiet south Kansas City cul-de-sac with many older residents was the scene of the city’s worst multiple killing in more than two and a half years.

Three people were killed and two others hospitalized with critical injuries after the incident in the Woodbridge neighborhood east of the Blue Hills Country Club.

Kansas City police were called about 1 p.m. Tuesday to a home on Woodbridge Lane and reported finding one person dead outside. Officers entered the home in a search for suspects or other victims and discovered two other injured people. They were taken to different hospitals.

A short time later, officers reported finding two more people dead in another residence in the cul-de-sac. Officers methodically searched other houses. In some cases they had to force entry into unoccupied houses.

Police were directing any family members concerned about residents to the South Patrol Division at 9701 Marion Park Drive.

Initial reports were that officers were looking for a suspect possibly armed with a shotgun.

Police at the scene were tight-lipped about a possible motive but said the incident did not appear to start with a robbery. They said the victims were all adults.

Officers were conducting a door-to-door search, and residents of the neighborhood were being told to stay inside their homes. Schools in the area were also locked down as a precaution for short periods Tuesday afternoon.

Kathy Hurst, who came to the police command post at Wornall and Blue Ridge Boulevard, said she was concerned about her mother-in-law, who lives in a unit next to a cousin of Hurst. Hurst said she reached the cousin, who told her that police said to stay inside.

Jo Lombardino, a longtime member of the Woodbridge Homes Association, said the neighborhood had long considered itself one of the city’s safest. Residents she talked to Tuesday, she said, “are just heartbroken.”

Lombardino said the neighborhood had regular meetings with police officers who patrol the area and said she used to participate in the area crime patrol.

“This is just mind-boggling,” she said. “We are a very secure community.”

An online crime mapping feature shows only two recent minor incidents reported in the neighborhood, although one of those incidents, a theft, was reported on Aug. 30 at the residence where some of the victims were found.

Lombardino said the subdivision has always had a friendly, neighborly feel. Yearly pool parties in the summer and Christmas parties drew dozens of residents.

“In the last few years we’ve had many young families move in,” she said. “It is a very, very desirable place to live.”

Rick Mayer, president of the Woodbridge Homes Association, said it is a “everybody helps everybody else kind of neighborhood.”

“I’m absolutely in shock about this,” he said.

The side of the neighborhood where the crime occurred is occupied primarily by older residents, while the other side of the development has many younger residents with children, Mayer said.

“Everybody feels comfortable and safe here,” he said.

The killings come during a year in which the city was on pace for its lowest homicide total in more than 40 years. Before Tuesday, Kansas City had 43 homicides in 2014, compared to nearly 70 at the same time last year.

The city’s last triple homicide occurred in January 2012 at 39th Street and Paseo.
