Wrongful Death Woman Accused of Killing Daughter and Granddaughter Sentenced to Life

A Clark County woman charged with murdering her daughter and granddaughter was sentenced in the case Thursday.

Lillie Stanton was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, charged with stabbing her 23-year-old daughter, Danel Korey Stanton, and her 22-month-old granddaughter Kaydence Ray Miers, at her home in May of 2012.

Stanton pleaded guilty to both murders in January of this year.

Police said she confessed to killing her loved ones, saying it would prevent a nasty custody battle involving her granddaughter. She told police that she feared her granddaughter’s father was going to get increased visitation with the child.

Stanton told police both victims were sleeping when she cut their throats. She also cut her own wrists and throat before police arrived and she confessed to the double murder.

Private Detective Man Attempts to Lure Child Into Car in Lexington

Thanks to social media and email, a neighborhood was able to get out the word on a strange man trying to lure a 2-year-old into his car very quickly Tuesday.

The incident happened around the 300 block of Kingsway Drive and thanks to a vigilant neighborhood watch group, word spread quickly.

A message sent out to the neighborhood reported that a strange car stopped in front of a little boy and asked if he wanted to see the bunnies he had in the trunk.

The babysitter watching the little boy described him as a white male in his 60’s or 70’s wearing a plaid shirt and blue jeans.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

He was driving an older, possibly 1990s model black sedan and had circled the area a few times before finally stopping to try and talk to the little boy.

One neighbor said it was an unsettling feeling with the weather warming up and lots of little kids will be getting outside.

She said she’ll do things differently which includes keeping track of who’s coming and going from their street.

Police encourage anyone who sees something suspicious to report it immediately.

In the meantime, officers will be making extra rounds in the area, looking for the vehicle matching the description.

Private Detective Former Information Tech Worker Convicted for Damaging Computer System

A former information technology worker at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky Inc. plant in Georgetown, Kentucky, has been convicted of intentionally damaging the company’s computer systems.

Earlier this week, a federal jury in Lexington convicted 36-year-old Ibrahimshah Shahulhameed of intentionally damaging a protected computer through the transmission of malicious information, codes, and commands. The jury returned the verdict on Tuesday after approximately four hours of deliberation, following six days of trial.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

Testimony at trial proved that Shahulhameed was fired from his contractor position at Toyota on August 23, 2012. During the hours following his termination, Shahulhameed used a Toyota-issued laptop and his Toyota credentials to access the company’s computer network on several occasions from his home. Shahulhameed then made numerous unauthorized changes to the programming of different Toyota computer systems. Shahulhameed also attempted to delete and alter evidence that he had changed the settings of these computer systems. Shahulhameed’s actions caused multiple Toyota computer systems to malfunction. In the months that followed, Toyota spent substantial resources diagnosing and repairing the problems that Shahulhameed caused within a seven-hour span.

The defendant was employed at Toyota as a contractor from early 2011 until August 23, 2012.

Kerry B. Harvey, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky, and Perrye K. Turner, Special Agent in Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, jointly announced the conviction.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI. Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew T. Boone prosecuted this case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office on behalf of the federal government.

Shahulhameed will appear for sentencing on May 8, 2014. He faces a maximum of 10 years in prison. However, the court must consider the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and the federal statute before imposing a sentence.

Wrongful Death Suspects in Alex Johnson Murder Indicted

A Fayette County grand jury has indicted two suspects in the murder of a Lexington man who went missing late last year.

Court documents indicate that Robert Markham “Mark” Taylor, 28, knocked on Alex Johnson’s door back on Dec. 20. The 38-year-old victim was talking to his girlfriend on the phone at the time. She told police she recognized Taylor’s voice, and he said, “Come downstairs. I’ve got a surprise for you.” Johnson’s girlfriend said he told her, “Mark is here. I’ll call you later.” That was the last she heard from him.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Johnson’s body was recovered from the Kentucky River stuffed in a barrel on Jan. 24.

According to court documents, Timothy “Tiny” Ballard, 42, told police he and Taylor lured Johnson into a car, and Taylor beat him to death. Police say Ballard admitted to disposing of the body while Taylor cleaned up the car.

The grand jury indicted Taylor on charges of murder, kidnapping and tampering with physical evidence. Ballard was indicted on charges of kidnapping, tampering with physical evidence and persistent felony offender.

According to the indictment, Ballard has previous convictions of kidnapping, robbery, threatening a U.S. president and theft by unlawful taking in Alabama.

Pedophile Tracking Trafficker Convicted on 9 Charges in Federal Court

Lorain County pimp Jeremy Mack was convicted Tuesday on all nine counts of sex trafficking, conspiracy, drug dealing, witness tampering and obstruction of justice.

U.S. District Court Judge Sara Lioi will sentence Mack on May 29.

One of the sex-trafficking charges involved a 16-year-old high school girl whom Mack had recruited to work for him as a prostitute.

Mack, 38, of Elyria, employed Ashley Onysko, 24, of Avon Lake, who pleaded guilty to recruiting teenage women for Mack, providing the women with free heroin and cocaine, and driving them to motel rooms where they would engage in sex with men.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

After the women became addicted, Mack forced them to work as prostitutes to pay off their drug debts to him.

Some of the women who testified during the weeklong trial accused Mack of routinely beating and choking them, of brandishing handguns and stun guns, and of threatening to kill them and their families if they crossed him or tried to escape from his house in Elyria.

The jury deliberated over the course of two days.

“With today’s verdict, Jeremy Mack’s time roaming our community and preying on the most vulnerable will finally come to an end,” said U.S. Attorney Steven Dettelbach.

Stephen Anthony, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Cleveland office, praised the verdicts.

“Thankfully, Mr. Mack will not be able to prey on and victimize children from where he is — behind bars,” Anthony said.

The witness tampering and obstruction of justice charges involved Mack advising his son to “stick with the script” when testifying before a grand jury. Mack also gave money to Onysko to buy gifts for one of his prostitutes, with a message that she not “flip” and testify against him or speak to the FBI.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Bridget Brennan and Carole Skutnik.

Mack’s original lawyers, Assistant Federal Public Defenders Edward Bryan and Carolyn Kucharski, stepped down from the case after prosecutors accused them of helping Mack violate a court no-contact order with witnesses and victims.

The prosecutors reported Kucharski and Bryan to the U.S. Office of Public Integrity for what they called “improper and potentially illegal” activities in the case. The investigation is ongoing.

Bryan and Kucharski say they did nothing wrong, describing their actions as the work of extraordinarily diligent lawyers merely doing their jobs.
