Missing Person Remains of Found Near Fort Morgan Airport

The remains of a missing teenage girl discovered near Fort Morgan last week have been identified as those of a Kayla Chadwid, 17, who disappeared in 16 months ago, authorities say.

The remains were discovered last Thursday about a mile East of the Fort Morgan Airport, said Lt. Jared Crone, Fort Morgan police spokesman.

Chadwick vanished on the same evening in March of 2012 in which she had an argument with her Fort Morgan High School boyfriend Ivan Torralba.

The 19-year-old man was arrested Nov. 8 on four counts of perjury, one count of tampering with physical evidence and trying to influence a public servant.

A grand jury had been convened to investigate her disappearance.

Torralba’s arrest was connected to the “investigation” into the disappearance, but not necessarily Chadwick’s disappearance itself.

“We haven’t been able to determine cause or manor of death,” Crone said. “There is still a lot of follow up to do before we can draw any conclusions.”

BBB wants to warn consumers about National Fraud Investigation Agency. Consumers tell BBB they are getting collection calls from National Fraud Investigation Agency for loans they never took out.

National Fraud Investigation Agency representatives tell consumers that felony charges will be filed against them if they do not pay over the phone immediately. Some consumers tell us the business has their old addresses, social security numbers and other personal identifiable information. The business told another consumer that they had sent notices to the consumer’s old address, but the consumer never received them.

BBB has been unable to locate the business. Mail sent to the address at 943 Sycamore St #1215,Cincinnati, OH 45202 ‎ has been returned as undeliverable. According to Google Maps, 943 Sycamore St does not exist. Our phone calls to the business asking for another address ‎have been ignored.

If you get suspicious calls about a debt you allegedly owe, BBB offers the following advice:

• Ask the debt collector to provide official documentation to prove that you owe the debt.

• Do not provide or confirm any bank account, credit card or other personal information over the phone until you have verified the legitimacy of the call.

• File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and/or your state’s Attorney General’s office if the caller is abusive, uses threats or otherwise violates federal telemarketing laws.

Insurance Fraud ND Man Accused in Dead Cattle Case

A McIntosh County man charged with starving to death more than 100 cattle now also stands accused of making false statements to insurance agents.

Forty-four-year-old James Schnabel earlier this year pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor counts of mistreating animals. He’s scheduled to stand trial in late August.

http://liarcatchers.com/insurance_fraud.html

He now also is charged with a misdemeanor count of committing a fraudulent insurance act and a felony count of attempted theft. The Bismarck Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1b37tE0 ) that he’s due in court on the new charges July 22. His attorney did not immediately respond to an Associated Press request for comment Tuesday.

Authorities allege that Schnabel submitted an insurance claim falsely stating that starved cattle had died after being chased by wild dogs.

Insurance Fraud 85 Year Old Woman Charged in Son’s Fatal DUI Crash

An 85-year-old Chester County woman has been charged with insurance fraud after her son allegedly caused a fatal accident while driving her pickup truck, police said Wednesday.

http://liarcatchers.com/insurance_fraud.html

The mother, Louise Landis, registered and insured a full-size Dodge Ram in her name and allowed her son, who had a poor driving record, to drive it, police said. The mother allegedly never drove the truck, even though she claimed in insurance papers to be the sole driver. Her son, Robert Landis, 50, is in jail awaiting trial on charges he allegedly caused a fatal wreck that killed motorcyclist Liam Crowley in Westtown Township in April. The Crowley family’s insurance claim was denied because Robert Landis was listed as an “excluded driver” on his mother’s insurance policy, police said. Louise Landis, of West Chester, was arrested by the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department. She faces one count of insurance fraud, a first-degree misdemeanor punishable by up to five years in prison. She is free on $5,000 unsecured bail.

Identity Theft Paint Lick, KY Man Charged

Jason Lear, 29, of Paint Lick, was charged Monday with identity theft, and three others were cited on charges of hindering apprehension after Richmond police said they were hiding him in a room in the Red Roof Inn.

Officers were dispatched to the Knights Inn at about 9:30 a.m. in response to a report of an unresponsive woman in one of the rooms, according to a Richmond Police Department news release.

http://liarcatchers.com/identity_theft_investigation.html

They encountered Lear, who falsely identified himself using his brother’s name and identifiers, the release stated. After the woman, Ashley Rayborn, 24, of Stanford, was taken to Baptist Health hospital, the officers left.

Shortly after, the officers learned Lear’s true identity and that warrants had been issued for his arrest, according to the report.

They tracked Lear to a room at the Red Roof Inn, where they encountered three men who denied Lear was in the room. However, a search found him hiding under the bed, the report stated.

He was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the Madison County Detention Center, where he was served with Madison County warrant for flagrant non-support, and three bench warrants from Lincoln District Court, one for probation violation and two for contempt.

The three other men were cited on misdemeanor charges of hindering apprehension.

After Rayborn was treated and released from the hospital, she was then taken into custody on the strength of two Lincoln District Court warrants, one alleging contempt of court and other alleging probation violation.

She also was charged with drug paraphernalia possession after officers discovered a cut ink pen and a used syringe in her purse, the police report stated.

Rayborn also was taken to the detention center, where she and Lear both remained Tuesday evening, according to the detention center website.
