Police are blocking off the area with crime-scene tape.

The search for the suspect who authorities said killed an elderly man and then posted the video on Facebook expanded outside Ohio, with authorities calling on residents of nearby states to be on alert.

Stephens is accused of killing 74-year-old Robert Godwin on Sunday in a residential area east of Cleveland, police said.

Stephens uploaded a video to his Facebook page showing a gun pointed at  Godwin’s head. He forced the elderly man to say the name of his ex-girlfriend before executing him.

The video was posted around 2 p.m. Sunday. Facebook later disabled access to it.

Stephens claimed on Facebook that he committed multiple homicides, but police said they have no knowledge of other victims.

Wrongful Death Man Sentenced to Life in Overdose Case

A Lexington man has been sentenced to life in prison for his role in a fentanyl overdose case.

Joshua Ewing, 28, was sentenced in federal court Monday for his role in the death of Jeremy Deaton. Deaton overdosed in the garage of his home in 2016. His body was found by his then 10-year-old son.

Under federal law, if you are convicted of distributing drugs that result in an overdose death, you face a minimum of 20 years in prison and potential for life.  If you have a prior drug felony conviction a mandatory sentence of life is given.

Deaton’s brother, Christopher, wants people to realize the culpability of drug dealers.

“Drug dealing has to stop. We have to do more in this country. Certainly, the U.S. Attorney’s office here has a large hammer and the drug dealers need to understand if they’re going to continue to pedal this poison, they will very likely find themselves in this courtroom in the same situation,” Deaton told LEX 18.

Private Detective: Whitley Co. Mother Pleads Not Guilty to Murder of Husband, Daughters

A Whitley County woman pleaded not guilty to the murders of her two daughters and her husband.

Police say Courtney Taylor shot all three of her immediate family members in their home in January. Taylor was arraigned on capital murder charges.

Taylor is accused of shooting her daughters Jessie and Jolee, and her husband, Larry, while all three were asleep in their beds. Taylor is also accused of pointing her gun at two sheriff’s deputies, forcing them to shoot her twice.

A KSP detective said Taylor told him she killed her husband Larry over missing money and then killed her two daughters so they wouldn’t have to grow up without a mother like she did. The detective said Taylor killed her husband over a cash settlement of $264,000 that was missing from their bank account.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

The detective said on the night of January 13, a relative of the Taylor family forced his way into the home because no one had heard from the family since the day before. He told police he found Courtney Taylor asleep on the couch with a loaded gun. Investigators say the man found Jessie Taylor lying dead in her bed. He then unloaded Taylor’s gun and called 911.

The detective said Taylor indicated at the scene of the crime that she wanted to die and she said, “it’s not supposed to be this way.”

After entering her plea, Taylor’s attorney made a motion for the judge to clear the courtroom. The judge granted the motion.

Private Detective: Laurel County Coroner Identifies Body Found in Lake

The Laurel County Coroner tells LEX 18 they believe the body found in a lake Sunday is 21-year-old Andrew Ku of New York, NY.

The coroner says crews were called around 12:30PM when fisherman out on Lake Laurel spotted a body floating in the water.

They said it was found near a boat ramp in the Marsh Branch area.

Kentucky State Police and the coroner were working the scene for hours trying to figure out who the man was.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

Fishermen in the area say they’re surprised they didn’t notice anything earlier this morning. They say this lake is a clean one. You can see clearly in some spots but they do say it gets deep quickly and you can only see so far.

“I was here yesterday afternoon and I fish the cove where they found the body. There was no body there then,” said Eddie Evans, who fishes at the lake often.

“It’s a very nice lake, you know, it’s very beautiful with the trees surrounding it and the forrest and everything. Lots of room for everybody to do everything they wanted to -tubing, boating, just everything,” said boater Tanner Walden.

An investigation is underway to figure out how Ku died.
