A father accused of murdering his one-month-old son had his case sent to a grand jury Thursday.
Caz Hazuga claims he didn’t kill his son, who died on Thanksgiving morning. He said he woke up to feed little Caz Hazuga, Jr. at 6 a.m. That’s when he says the baby choked on his formula and stopped breathing.
Hazuga says he tried to give him CPR then woke the baby’s mother, she did the same then they took him to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Hazuga says he never intentionally hurt his son, asking why would he hurt a part of himself and that his son is part of himself.
Police say Hazuga admitted to intentionally killing his son by striking his head on the kitchen counter. Hazuga says that story came from detectives. He said they told him the baby had a skull fracture and that he must have hit the baby’s head.
Hazuga says he falsely admitted to the crime because detectives threatened to arrest his fianceĆ© if he didn’t.
A public defender was appointed to Hazuga. The judge in the case refused to set bond for Hazuga in Thursday’s hearing.
