Missing Person Ashley Britton of Georgetown

Georgetown police are searching for a teenage girl who went missing earlier this week.

17-year-old Ashley Britton of Georgetown has been missing since Monday. Police say she was last seen at Kroger and Walmart in Georgetown.

Her parents say they found a note in her room stating she was leaving home. She left on her own, according to police, and is believed to be with an adult man she met online.

“She didn’t say where she was going, but she outlined her plans of what she intended to do,” said Captain Robert Swanigan with Georgetown Police.

Her mother says she believes her daughter was manipulated into leaving.

Evan Foreman, who has been good friends with Britton since junior high, says he spoke with her a couple days before she went missing and is surprised about the whole situation.

“We were just talking about how we’d never part ways and stay friends until we grow old just like we want to,” he said. “I never saw this coming.”

Ashley is believed to be driving her 2002 Infinity G20 which is Wildcat blue.

“If she were to see this, I would tell her I love her and miss her and to come on home,” Foreman said.

If you see or have any information about Ashley Britton, you are asked to call Georgetown Police.
