Private Detective 71 Tires Slashed at Georgetown Auto Business

A total of 71 tires on least 22 different vehicles were slashed at a Scott County Auto Shop this week.

One of Tom Jacko’s employees at J&B Auto Mart and Repair on Connector Road in Georgetown, made the disturbing discovery Wednesday morning.

The owner says only the new vehicles’ tires we slashed, though, not the ones that were there for repair, which finds to be quite curious.

Just about all the vehicles he had on his lot for sale, now have slashed tires.

As they go about changing out the damaged tires for new ones, the owner says he can’t help but feel he’s been personally targeted.

“I don’t understand that. Someone’s gonna slice tires, you think they’re just gonna go through and slice them, not pick out the ones that are for sale. Doesn’t make sense,” he said.

The owner adds that he’s never felt the need for a surveillance camera in more than 20 years of business, until now.

Jacko is offering a $1,000 reward of his own money hoping someone will come forward with information that will lead to an arrest.

LEX 18 has learned other Georgetown-area car dealers had similar episodes of vandalism just this week.
