The Fayette County School system is notifying parents about two men who tried to lure two Lexington students to their truck Monday.
Lexington public schools sent home letters Monday with students explaining exactly what happened at the intersection of Wilson Downing and Allonte Brooke Court and saying that police are investigation the situation.

And the school system along with police echo the concern that parents should be vigilant about people who might seem suspicious.
“It’s best to remind kids most adults have GPS, cell phones and can talk to another adult,” Sherelle Roberts of the Lexington Police Department said. “So there’s really no reason for a stranger to be asking a child for help of any kind.”
Turns out, this is not the first time the driver of a suspicious red pickup truck has tried interacting with Lexington students this school year.
The previous incident happened back in August near the intersection of Winthrop Drive and Millpond Road where we’re told a man asked a girl walking to school to get in his truck. The girl did run away.
Other students also reported seeing the same suspicious vehicle.
Police have not confirmed that these two cases are connected.
Parents in the neighborhood now plan to have adults present at each bus stop.
