An unusual crash investigation in Laurel County as a man was knocked off his motorcycle by a mattress.
The Sheriff’s Department said John Davis was riding his motorcycle along Kentucky 30 Sunday evening when a mattress strapped to a minivan passing him in the opposite lane came loose.

The mattress struck the 56 year old’s bike and his face.
Davis’ wife said he suffered broken ribs, road rash and needed many stitches in his head after he wiped out.
