Private Detective, Lexington Police Issue Warrant for Chestnut Street Shooting Suspect

Lexington Police have obtained an arrest warrant in connection with the June 11 shooting on Chestnut Street.

Detectives obtained warrants for murder and tampering with physical evidence for suspect Jefferey Charles Morris in connection with the death of 47-year-old Anthony Carter.

Carter was found lying on the street at Fourth and Chestnut streets around 5:40 a.m. with a gunshot wound.

He was pronounced dead at 6:16 a.m. shortly after being taken to the hospital.
