Private Detective: Suspected Shooter of 9 Year Old Arrested in N. Virginia

Shooting suspect Alberto Piñedas Contreras has been arrested by Kanawha County, West Virginia Sheriff’s Deputies, with the assistance of U.S. Marshals and Immigration and Customs Enforcement authorities, on an Assault 1st Degree warrant obtained by Lexington Police investigators.

On March 7, 2015, were called to 1509 Russell Cave Road in response to a shooting. The victims told officers they were driving near the intersection of Hollow Creek Rd and Russell Cave Rd, when a bullet was fired into their vehicle. The bullet struck one passenger, a 9-year-old boy.

Yesterday, March 11, 2015 Lexington Police investigators obtained an Assault 1st Degree arrest warrant for Contreras. He was arrested today, the result of a combined effort involving Lexington Police and the aforementioned law enforcement agencies. Contreras had been in Fayette County Detention Center Thursday but was released hours before the assault warrant was issued.
