State police say a woman hurt her own child and then tried to blame an ATV rider.
Marlinda Hall told troopers that she was walking with her 2-month-old on a road in Breathitt County on Wednesday, when someone on an ATV ran them off the road. She said the child’s stroller went down a hill and the child hit a concrete barrier.

But a few days later, Hall admitted that she made the story up. She told troopers she actually made the scratch marks on the child’s head with a pair of tweezers.
She’s charged with child abuse and false reporting.
