Private Detective: Woman Found in Lexington Neighborhood With Gunshot Wounds

A neighborhood is on edge after a gunshot victim is found pleading for help early Saturday morning. It happened on the 19 hundred block of Millbank Road in Lexington just after 7 a.m.

Police say they received reports of a woman in her mid-20s crying out for help.

A neighbor who found the woman lying in the grass near her property, talked to LEX18 about the scary ordeal.

“We heard someone hollering ‘mama mama’ and we thought it was a child.,” said the woman, who asked to remain anonymous. “She had managed to crawl from over there to over here on the porch. At first she looked like she had been beat up. Her face was bleeding and she was just pouring blood out of her mouth. The policeman said something about, she was shot,” said the woman.

Police tell neighbors they were able to follow a trail of blood from the concession stand from a nearby park to where the victim was found. The victim was taken to a local hospital. At this time, officers are not releasing her identity and there is no word on her condition.
