Private Detective: Man Arrested For Stealing Cars From Manchester Car Lot

One Laurel County man was arrested for stealing a vehicle Sunday night.

Sheriff’s Deputies received a call that a vehicle was sitting on J Chestnut Road. The caller said that a man got out of the vehicle and started running when the caller stopped to see if he needed any help.

Officers arrived at the scene and located the man in the driver seat. After conducting an investigation they determined that the vehicle, a 2001 red colored Lincoln four-door, had been reported stolen to the Manchester Police Department.

Officers at the scene located numerous sets of car keys that police say belonged to cars at the car lot where the Lincoln had been stolen.

Harry Castle, 23 of London, stated he had stolen the car from a car lot in Manchester.

Castle was determined to be under the influence.

He was charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000 and public intoxication. He was also charged on a Clay County warrant of arrest obtained by the Manchester Police Department charging him with burglary, 1st degree and theft auto.

Police say Castle broke into the car lot office and stole keys to cars. He took three cars valued over $500.

He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Officers say a second subject was arrested. They say he had just gotten out of the vehicle when deputies arrived at the scene.

He was identified as Franklin Parks, 25, of Corbin.

Parks was charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000.

He says that he was in the vehicle with a friend who had stolen the vehicle and that the two had ran out of gas on J Chestnut Toad.

He was also charged on a Knox County bench warrant of arrest for nonpayment of fines regarding a charge of fourth degree assault.
