Private Detective: Two Arrested After Pursuit in Madison County

Two people were arrested after a pursuit of a stolen vehicle.

Deputies in Madison County stopped the vehicle on U.S 25 and KY 499 Friday morning. When they made contact with the driver, he fled the scene in the stolen vehicle and collided with a Madison County Sheriff’s Office cruiser.

Deputies say they pursued the vehicle on U.S 25 and then across Hurley Shortline Road. The pursuit continued south on U.S 421 until the driver turned onto Muddy Creek South.

Deputies lost sight of the vehicle on Log Cabin Road. They say they recovered the stolen vehicle on Arthur Jackson Road, it was unoccupied.

Deputies with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police searched the area and found and arrested Taylor Hampton, 20 of Richmond and Jasmine Roberson, 27, of Berea.

They were hiding in a field near Log Cabin Road and placed under arrest.

The Sheriff says Taylor Hampton was charged with the following: Speeding, Fleeing and Evading 1st degree, Wanton Endangerment of a police officer 1st degree, Wanton Endangerment 2nd degree, No Operator’s License, Reckless Driving, Criminal Mischief 2nd degree and Theft by Unlawful Taking.

Jasmine Roberson was charged with Fleeing and Evading 2nd degree, Receiving Stolen Property under $500 and Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd degree.

They were lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
