Private Detective: Suspect in Kroger Parking Lot Robbery in Custody

Lexington Police are investigating an assault and robbery that happened in a Kroger parking lot.

They say that just before 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, officers responded to the Kroger in Tates Creek Centre where a woman’s purse had been stolen.

The victim told police that she was loading groceries into her vehicle when an unknown man approached and attempted to grab her purse.

The man struck the victim in the face during the struggle.

After robbing her he left in an older white pickup truck with striping on the side.

UPDATE: Larry Thomas Byrd, 33, was arrested Friday night. He was charged with first degree robbery.
