A man is behind bars in Jackson County, accused of damaging nearly a dozen graves.
The Sheriff’s Office says Charles Fowler got into an argument with his father, began drinking, then went to the Russell Flats Cemetery near McKee. They say he began damaging gravestones with a hammer, as well as destroying decorations. Officials say some gravestones were knocked over, while others were chipped. His mother’s grave was among those damaged.

Fowler is charged with violating graves and public intoxication.
