Private Detective: Victims Bound With Duct Tape During Robbery

Police are hoping that a look at surveillance photos will help generate some leads in the case of a Lexington robbery that happened just days before Christmas.

On December 23, detectives say that two men went inside of ‘Beat the Clock Tax Services’ and robbed the business while another man waited outside in a black Ford Explorer.

“The two male Hispanics that went into the business were armed with a handgun,” said Detective Mark Thomas with the Lexington Police Department. “They bound the employee and one customer, and then proceeded to rob the store.”

Maged Ghrayib, who runs the check cashing service, said he was held at gunpoint.

“He put me on the ground with a gun on my head, and he clicked the gun, he want to shoot me,” said Ghrayib.

Ghrayib said he was bound with duct tape as the robbers got away with cash, his cellphone, and his wallet.

“We really want to reach out to the good people in the community to see if they can give us a name before something like this happens again,” said Detective Thomas.

If you have any information leading to an arrest, Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000. You can call in your tip to (859) 253-2020. You can also text or email your information.
