Private Detective: Two Arrested For Child Abuse Charges

Two people have been arrested for child abuse charges in Clark County.

The arrest citations for Anna Camacho and Juan Maldondo say that they are involved in tying up Camacho’s children by their necks, heads, and wrists, and hitting them with a belt and cell phone charger. The two boys are 6 and 9-years-old.

The abuse allegedly occurred on the enclosed front porch of their residence on Paris Road in Winchester.

The children were forced to stand on their tippy toes while being hit, according to the documents.

On May 12, the children reported it to their school counselor who did a Social Services referral.  The arrest citation said that both kids had visible bruises on their arms and legs and that the 6-year-old told police he had bruises on his bottom but would not allow social services of officers to witness them.

Camacho told social services that she witnessed the two children being tied up by her boyfriend, Maldondo, but failed to stop him.

Both are charged with assault 4th degree (child abuse), criminal abuse 1st degree, and unlawful imprisonment 2nd degree.

Sheriff Berl Purdue tells LEX 18 that Social Services did not contact the Sheriff’s Office until two weeks after the children reported the abuse to school staff, causing a delay in the arrests.

Social Services said that they will not comment on the situation just yet.

An infant girl was living at the home. The Sheriff’s Office said that she is fine, but all three children are in custody of the state waiting for relatives to be found.
