Private Detective: Valley View Ferry Closed After Possible Human Remains Found

The Valley View Ferry is closed Wednesday after Lexington Police say that potential human remains have been found in the Kentucky River.

Police tell us the possible remains were found on Saturday while they were pulling old vehicles from the water. The Fayette County Coroner tells LEX 18 were pulling a car out of the water when it split in half. At that point, bones washed out of the vehicle.

They say testing still needs to be done on the remains, which could be a lengthy process. They aren’t sure if the bones were originally inside the car or if the remains washed into the vehicle.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

On Wednesday another crew will return to the river to further explore the area.

The remains were found during a salvage operation in which cars that had been spotted in the river months ago were pulled from the water.

At this time police say it is not clear if the suspected remains are connected with any of those vehicles or any particular investigation.

Because river conditions remain ideal, a crew will head back to continue their search. The Valley View Ferry will be closed all day starting at 8 a.m.

Pedophile Tracking Wisconsin Man Arrested in Oneida Co. Child Sex Sting

A 35-year-old Northern Wisconsin man has been charged after investigators said he was arrested while trying meet an underage person for sex.

Dustin Zernicke was arrested Friday and remains in custody on $10,000 cash bond.

Deputies from the Oneida County Internet Crimes against Children Task Force conducted undercover operations in attempt to arrest child sexual predators. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Department has conducted joint stings with other agencies, but conducted this latest sting on their own.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

Captain Terri Hook said in the past they have worked with other sheriff departments but decided to do the online sting solo to specifically serve and protect the children of Oneida County.

“We had 10 people working that night primarily on this case. So that’s a lot of effort put into one arrest. But for us it’s an important arrest because it’s one less person who could be possibly victimizing children,” Hook explained.

Captain Hook said it took several months to organize the online ad sting. She said they hope to continue to do more stings like this in the future.

Wrongful Death Woman Indicted on Charges Related to Crash

A woman has been indicted on multiple charges relating to a 2015 crash that killed two people in Lexington.

On December 2, 2015, Joseph and Cynthia Beemer were headed back home to Paducah. They were headed west on Versailles Road that morning when their pickup truck was hit head-on by another pickup truck.

The other truck was allegedly driven by Krystal Chaffins who has been indicted for manslaughter, driving under the influence, and possession of a controlled substance.

“I know for myself that it has been unbearable,” said Joseph’s daughter Stephanie Beemer-Fryar. “My father and I spoke every day, my father and I, we would spend an hour to two hours on the phone every Sunday.”

Beemer-Fryar told LEX 18 that she would like less leniency for intoxicated drivers, especially the one who allegedly killed her father and step-mother.

“I don’t know how someone bears the weight of killing two people and be as happy has she portrays herself to be,” said Beemer-Fryar.

Private Detective: Police Looking For Threatening Robber

Police are looking for a man who made some frightening threats during two gas station robberies.

The man didn’t attempt to cover his face during the robberies, but he was wearing a baseball cap.

Police say that first, he robbed the Speedway on Leestown Road. During that robbery, he threatened the clerk with a gun and demanded cash.

The next day, police say the same man showed up at the Thornton’s on Georgetown Road. This time, police say he took it a step further.

“He comes into this gas station, and he goes to the clerk and he actually tells her that if she does not give him the money quickly, he’s going to shoot someone else in the store; a customer,” said Detective Mark Thomas with the Lexington Police Department. “To us, that’s certainly a heightened level of violence or at least a threat for violence.”

Police say that in both robberies, the man entered the store calmly before pulling a gun from his waistband.
