Private Detective: Thieves Steal From EKU Bus in St. Louis

Students from EKU had their belongings stolen while in St. Louis for a school project.

“It was a bad feeling, knowing that in the blink of an eye everything no matter how great your day is could have changed, and it did,” said student Whitney Rice.

While on their way out of town, nearly two dozen students stopped at City Museum in St. Louis.

While their bus was parked in the parking lot, thieves used an RV as cover to hop the fence, break into the bus and steal their belongings.

Our sister station KSDK said that people drove by as the students’ bags were tossed over a fence.

Student A.J. Gillette has family in St. Louis and told LEX 18 that he pretty much grew up there.

“To have 23 students come and see the city that I have bragged so much about, and this happen to it; I personally felt embarrassed,” said Gillette.

A GoFundMe has been created to help the students replace some of their stolen belongings.

Private Detective: RV Stolen While Grandfather Treated for Spinal Stenosis

A lifelong camper, recovering from a serious medical condition, is now searching for his missing RV.

Larry Durr says it was stolen from his driveway sometime in the past couple of months before he returned home.

Durr and his wife first went camping in the 1960’s with just a tent and a few supplies.

Soon, it became a lifelong passion.

“We added the children, and they camped too,” said Durr.

In January, Durr was stricken with spinal stenosis, and was in an assisted living facility until a couple of weeks ago.

He left his new RV in the driveway on Galata Drive, thinking it would be safe there. But last month, it went missing.

“Shocked. Why would anybody, you know you don’t just pick that up. You have to know how to hitch it up and everything,” said Durr.

He filed a report with Lexington Police, and says officers asked neighbors if they saw anything. But so far, no sign of the RV.

“It’d be nice if someone saw it, and reported it,” said Durr.

It’s not just the RV that’s missing, it’s the sentimental items from 50-plus years of camping.

“The first lantern I ever bought. It’s a little Coleman lantern,” said Durr.

He’s hoping to have it back in time for the spring, so he can make some new memories with his kids and grandchildren.

If you have information about the missing RV, contact Lexington Police.

Missing Person Memphis Police Find Missing FL Girl Safe

Our sister station WMC in Memphis is reporting that police there have found a vehicle that fits the description of the vehicle connected to a Florida Amber Alert.

They said that Memphis Police pulled the car over on Walnut Grove Road near Baptist East and they said that there was a child in the car.

Tennessee Bureau of Investigation tells WMC that the girl has been found safe.

WMC reports that West Wild Hogs has been taken into custody.

An Amber Alert was issued for 4-year-old Rebecca Ann Lewis from Florida. Lewis was reported missing Saturday. She is described as having blonde hair, blue eyes, 30 pounds and is 3 feet tall. She was last seen wearing a pink dress.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Police say Lewis was taken by 31-year-old West Wild Hogs, formerly known as Matthew Clark Pybus. He’s described as having red hair, with blue-green eyes, weighing 220 pounds and is 5’8″. Officials say he has a scar shaped like the letter “L” on the left side of his head, a tattoo of a blue cross and a tattoo of a Chinese symbol.

Gilbert Acciardo, the public information officer of Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, sent a press release Monday saying that the two were spotted in Whitley County, Ky along I-75, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

They were last seen in a silver 2012 Nissan Versa with Alabama license plate “4JL26.” Officials say the car has a magnetic animal rescue paw on the driver’s side of the trunk area.

WFLA in Tampa reports Hogs is a family friend of the little girl, but he has been out of the picture for the last year or so. Investigators said he went to Lewis’ grandmother’s house in Polk City, Florida on Friday.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or KSP at 502-227-2221. KSP said do not approach Hogs if you see him.
