Private Detective: DUI Arrest Leads To Recovery of Stolen Items

Police say they pulled over a man for driving under the influence, but found much more inside his car.

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office say a deputy went to assist a Kentucky State Police trooper on a DUI traffic stop on US Highway 119 in the Belfry area.

KSP had pulled over Ralph Francis, of Canada, KY, on suspicion of DUI, then inspected his car. Inside, police found items that had been stolen from one or more homes recently.

Pedophile Tracking Second Cassidy Twin Sentenced to 20 Years

Lexington Police called it one of the worst child porn cases they’d ever investigated. On Friday, one of the two twins accused in a massive child porn investigation was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

79-year-old Jerry Cassidy pleaded guilty back in July to charges dating all the way back to the 1970s, including child porn possession, sodomy and sexual abuse.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

Police recovered  hundreds of pictures of young boys tied up, naked and kissing each other. They also found journals detailing the abuse. The Cassidy brothers lived a double life for years, singing at Bryan Station Baptist church and even singing at nursing homes.

Police say Jerry and his brother were once Boy Scout Leaders and, at one point, abused some of the boys in their care. His brother Jack was recently sentenced to 20 years in prison for the same charges.

Jerry must also register as a sex offender.

Private Detective: Georgetown Cemetery Owner Indicted On Theft Charges

A cemetery owner was indicted on charges of theft by deception for taking money to buy headstones for the cemetery and not purchasing headstones for the cemetery.

Documents state that Dale Shackleford unlawfully obtained more than $15,301.38 from six people by creating the false impression that the money would be used to purchase headstones and grave plots.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

Willard Frodelius, whose wife passed away June 2015, told LEX 18 earlier this year that Shackleford told him that his wife’s headstone would cost $2,700 and would be available by August 2015.

There is still no headstone and no explanation.

Georgetown resident Jay Marshall told LEX 18 that he lost his mother-in-law more than two years ago and her headstone is sitting in the parking lot of the cemetery.

Private Detective: Lexington Man Sentenced For Distributing Heroin and Fentanyl

A Lexington man was sentenced to more than thirty years in prison for distributing heroin and fentanyl resulting in the death of a 29-year-old woman.

The Office of the US Attorney stated in a press release that Christopher Allen, 44, was sentenced to 365 months in prison on Thursday  for distributing a controlled substance resulting in the death of 29-year-old Nicole Alvarez.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

Alvarez had given birth to a baby two weeks before her overdose.

Her boyfriend found her dead in their home.

“It’s hard to imagine a greater issue facing our commonwealth than this opiate crisis that continues to take lives and devastate families,” said Kerry B. Harvey, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky. “The people responsible for these tragedies, like Mr. Allen, have a heavy price to pay for their decision to pedal these poisons. This is a crisis that requires us to use every available tool to fight back. One such tool is our federal law that imposes a prison sentence of 20 years to life, with no parole, on those professional drug dealers and suppliers that sell heroin, fentanyl or other opiates, which result in death or serious bodily injury. We are working closely with our law enforcement partners to find those dealers we consider to be the worst the worst, and apply this law when necessary.”

Private Detective: Couple Pleads Not Guilty In Franklin Co Child Abuse Case

A Franklin County couple has pleaded not guilty to charges of abuse after authorities say they discovered three children living in horrible conditions.

Kimberly and Andrew Powell appeared in a court room Friday to answer to felony charges.

In what the Franklin County Sheriff called one of the worst child abuse cases he has ever seen, three children were found living in feces, bugs, and filth. Sheriff Pat Melton said that the kids were often left inside a dark room that was locked from the outside.

 http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

During a news conference Tuesday, authorities said that the children, ages 2, 4, and 6, were rescued from the home.

“They had a nail,” said Sheriff Melton. “And they were taking rope and tying it to the door and pulling the door shut, sealing them in there with black plastic over the windows and wrapping them.”

The children showed signs of malnourishment, delayed development, and the Sheriff said the two youngest children were wearing soiled diapers.

Sheriff Melton said that one of the children had only grown 5.4 ounces since their last appointment with a physician two years ago.

The Sheriff says they were removed from the home when the investigation started back in July.

This morning Kimberly and Andrew Powell, ages 26 and 25 respectively, were indicted by a grand jury. They are in the Franklin County Jail on charges of felony criminal abuse of a child.  They bond was set at $25,000.

Both Kimberly and Aaron pleaded not guilty and asked for a bond reduction.

Neither the Powell’s attorneys or extended family would speak to LEX 18 on camera. The attorneys did, however, express concern about the amount of confidential information released in this case by the Sheriff’s Department.

A future court date for the couple has not yet been set. The children are in the custody of social services.

Missing Person Police Searching for Girl in Connection to Boyle Co. Homicide

A homicide investigation is underway on Old Hustonville Road in Boyle County and Kentucky State Police are now searching for the victim’s missing stepdaughter.

Don Hamner, the Boyle County Corner, says the victim is Rhonda Oakley, 52. He says her step-son found her dead in the basement when he came home from school Thursday afternoon.

The coroner says Oakley was in the basement for about an hour before she was found. Hamner cannot say what kind of wounds she has, but says they are not self-inflicted.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

“This is a death of a 52-year-old lady that was found on the basement floor when her son got home from school,” Hamner said. “It does appear to be a homicide.”

Jenna Oakley, 15, of Danville has been entered as a missing juvenile, and may be in a white 2014 Honda Civic, with a Kentucky ‘Breast Cancer Awareness’ license plate displaying 2113-BT.  Jenna Oakley is described as a white female approximately 5’4” and 115 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing black framed glasses.  She is enrolled as a student at Boyle County High School, and was last seen at her school on Wednesday afternoon.

Jenna Oakley is Rhonda Oakley’s stepdaughter.

The car belongs to the victim.

Investigators spent much of the afternoon gathering evidence and talking to neighbors to try to find out what led up to Oakley’s death.

“I’m a few feet away from it I can really only see the yellow tape but I’ve seen a lot of people walk back and forth there really hasn’t been a lot of commotion,” said neighbor Dyllan Stocker.

Others, like Bryan Stocker, say they’re surprised to hear of something like this happening in what is typically a family-friendly neighborhood, “There are signs that say :slow down, children playing.” So yeah, there’s typically not much noise or disturbance out here.”

The victim’s body has been taken to the medical examiner’s office in Frankfort for an autopsy.

Anyone with information, regarding the whereabouts of Jenna Oakley or the white 2014 Honda Civic with Kentucky plates 2113-BT, is asked to contact KSP Post 7 at 859.623.2404
