Missing Person Search Continues For Woman Missing Since Sept. 2015

There has been a renewed search to find a Russell County mother who was been missing since late September 2015.

Whitney Copley’s sister says that the family believes Whitney’s remains are somewhere off of US 127 in Casey County.

Almost a month after she went missing, a pair of jeans was found in a shed near that area.

People searching for Whitney are dealing with thick brush, steep hillsides and abandoned properties.

“We just felt that it was time, since we had people volunteer, that we wanted dogs to come and search this area. Like I said, it has not been searched before. We are praying something will be found and our family can get some kind of closure to this nightmare that’s been going on for over ten months now,” said Lisa Kerr, Whitney Copley’s sister.

The family says there is a $12,000 reward for information leading to Whitney Copley’s recovery.

If you have any information, you are asked to call Kentucky State Police.

Wrongful Death Suspect Arrested in Woodland, WA Triple Homicide

A daylong manhunt ended in the Saturday afternoon arrest of the man suspected in a Friday night shooting near Woodland that killed three people and injured another.

Brent W. Luyster, 35, was taken into custody at 4:15 p.m Saturday on the Ocean Beach Highway west of Longview by the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington State Patrol, according to Sgt. Fred Neiman, spokesman for the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

“We are very pleased that Mr. Luyster was taken into custody without incident, without apparently harming anyone while we were looking for him,” Neiman said. “We were fearful that, given what we know of him, it might have been a different story.”

Luyster, a former Vancouver resident, is accused of fatally shooting two men and one woman and wounding another woman Friday night at a house at 4006 N.W. 417th St., just outside Woodland city limits.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

The shooting came to light about 10:30 p.m. when a woman with a gunshot wound to the face drove to the AM/PM mini-mart at 1037 Lewis River Road in Woodland. She told authorities that she and three others had been shot, and that Luyster had been the gunman, according to emergency radio traffic.

Law enforcement and medical personnel responding to the 417th Street location found the two men dead outside the residence and the woman dead inside. Their identities are not expected to be made public until later, Neiman said.

The woman remained hospitalized on Saturday, according to Neiman.

As detectives with the Regional Major Crimes Team continued to process the crime scene at the north county residence, authorities went on high alert searching for the Luyster, who was believed to be armed and dangerous, and spread word about him and the vehicles he may have been driving with local news outlets and on social media.

That effort may have led to Luyster’s capture on Saturday afternoon, according to Neiman. He said a call to dispatchers in Cowlitz County helped authorities locate his gold Ford Explorer on the Ocean Beach Highway and make the arrest.

“There was lots of public attention based on Facebook and all the media online stuff, so I really appreciate the media getting the word out that we were looking for this fellow and this vehicle,” Neiman said. “It’s very plausible that it led to him being taken into custody.”

Luyster has close-cropped hair and numerous tattoos, including swastikas and one across his stomach that reads “skinhead.” The Anti-Defamation League has described him as a white supremacist.

His criminal record dates to June 1988, when he was 7, according to Columbian archives. Most recently, he was released from the Cowlitz County Jail on June 8 after appearing in Cowlitz County Superior Court.

Luyster is accused of pistol-whipping his ex-girlfriend at his home in Longview on May 16. He pleaded not guilty on May 25, and his trial was scheduled to start Monday on allegations of assault, harassment and illegal firearm possession.

In the past, he’s been involved in a drive-by shooting, taken a motor vehicle without permission and been convicted of assault, rioting while armed with a deadly weapon, malicious harassment, malicious mischief and theft, among other crimes.

Wrongful Death Search Continues For Bodies of KY Couple

Family members searching for the bodies of a murdered couple say new evidence led them to Winchester on Saturday.

Relatives of Crystal Warner and Bobby Jones say surveillance tape, not yet released by Kentucky State Police, shows Craig Pennington at a Winchester McDonald’s when the couple went missing.

“We do know that the son had waited at the McDonald’s in Winchester,” said Bobby’s ex-wife, Jaclyn Jones.

Pennington was the last person to see the couple hours earlier about 80 miles away in Washington County.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

On Saturday, loved ones searched for the couple’s bodies about 7 miles away from the McDonald’s.

“It was out of character to not call in to work, or text his son back, or reach out to anyone,” said Jones.

Friends and family searched 15-20 miles around Mt. Zion Christian Church Saturday.

“We are just trying to give ourselves to bring both of them home,” said Bobby’s friend, Jason Wright.

“We are holding it all together to bring Bobby home to his boys, and Crystal, but it’s not easy right now,” said Bobby’s friend, Jeff Burg.

The Ballard family knows what it’s like to have a missing loved one. Their daughter, Crystal Rogers shares the same first name, age and date of disappearance as Crystal Warner.

The Ballard family still hasn’t found their daughter, but came out Saturday to help.

“I was nervous coming up here because I didn’t know how I was going to react searching again, or if it would bring back everything to me, but I don’t want any family going through what we did. Anything we can do to help,” said Sherry and Tommy Ballard.

The family says knowing they are a few steps closer to closure is what keeps them going.

Pennington has been charged with the couple’s murders and his bond is set at 2 million dollars.

Anyone in area is asked to check their own private property for any clues.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help cover their search efforts. Click here for more information.
