Wrongful Death Man Pleads Guilty In Bremen, IN Teen’s Death

A 20-year-old Bremen man on Wednesday pleaded guilty to the murder of a 15-year-old Bremen girl.

According to a report from the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office, Fabian Rubio pleaded guilty to murder in connection with the death of Desi Jones. The prosecutor’s office dropped additional charges of sexual misconduct with a minor and abuse of a corpse.

Jones’ body was found in a wooded area a few miles from her home on Dec. 19 2014 — the same day her family filed a missing person’s report.

According to a Tribune report at the time of Rubio’s arrest, he fled town the day Jones’ body was found but returned two days later and agreed to meet with police. Police found a bloodstain on the rear license plate of Rubio’s truck and after a search warrant was executed for the vehicle on Dec. 22, 2014, officers found nine separate bloodstains in the bed of the truck and on the spare tire underneath the bed.

During the execution of a second search warrant, for Rubio’s home, investigators found a black t-shirt, glove and shingle hammer, each stained with blood. Tests later determined it was Jones’ blood.

Rubio faces between 45 and 65 years in prison when he is sentenced next month.

The Franklin County Sheriff says that it appears a car was leaving Green Plaza and the bus was traveling south on 127 when they crashed.

The road was closed in both directions, but a northbound lane has reopened since then.

“It’s a bad to have his happen at any time of the day, but right now it will be a huge impact,” said Sheriff Pat Melton. “We’re asking everyone to avoid the area and you can bypass it, please avoid this area. ”

Cody Mcarter witnessed the crash and ran to the rescue.

“I ran back and grabbed a crowbar and hopped on top of it. Tried to pry the door open so they can get to them and get them secure because we couldn’t stick our hands through the window to stop the bleeding or even to see if they were alright. I panicked for a little bit,” said Mcarter.

Officials estimate that the southbound lanes will be closed for several hours.

Wrongful Death Jury Recommends 49 Years For Man Found Guilty of Murdering UK Chef

On Wednesday, the jury found Mark Taylor guilty in the murder of a UK chef and they recommended he get 49 years.

The jury was handed the case at noon today and deliberated until about 4:09 p.m..

Mark Taylor is charged with Murder, Kidnapping and Tampering with Evidence in the death of Alex Johnson. Johnson’s body was found in a barrel in the Kentucky River.

During the trial, Taylor admitted to being in the care and helping clean up after Johnson died, but he said he tried to revive Johnson that night.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Timothy Ballard, who had pleaded guilty to kidnapping Johnson and Tampering with Evidence told the court that he hit Johnson twice but didn’t kill him.

“What reason would Mark Taylor have to kill his best friend?” Defense Attorney Sandra Downs asked. “You heard how tight they were; everybody said how tight they were. They want you to think it was over a little bit of weed and maybe some money.”

“We know his explanation of what is happening in that parking lot. It is not a friend trying to save a friend, it is a friend killing a friend in the most brutal way and disposing of his body in the most horrible way,” said Prosecutor Lou Anna Red Corn.

The jury recommends Taylor get 49 years for the murder of Johnson. They recommend 22 years for Murder, 22 years for Kidnapping and five for Tampering with Physical Evidence, all to be served consecutively. Taylor’s formal sentence will be July 22nd.
