Wrongful Death Authorities Investigate 3 Shooting Deaths in Franklin Co.

Multiple agencies were working together Saturday to determine if three shooting deaths are all related.

Franklin County investigators say they were dispatched to a home on Pea Ridge Road, just outside Frankfort city limits, Saturday night a little before 6 p.m. When they arrived they found two people inside shot to death

A few hours before the bodies were found at the house on Pea Ridge Road, Franklin County coroner William Harrod told LEX18 authorities responded to what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a home on Washington Street. At this point, investigators cannot confirm if the two cases are connected, but they say the person with the apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound is related to at least one of the victims found at the house on Pea Ridge Road.

Investigators have not released the identities of any of the victims.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said they will be able to release more details early next week once they get a report from the state medical examiner’s office. In the meantime they ask if anyone has any information to call the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Private Detective: Oklahoma City Man Arrested on Kidnapping and Abuse Charges

Police say a woman suffered three days of abuse in her boyfriend’s car before she finally escaped to a local hospital.

Brian Roland Mance II, 39, faces one count of kidnapping and three charges of domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

The victim told police Mance attacked her at various locations around the metro, stabbing her leg 17 times with a Phillips head screwdriver, burning her thigh with a soldering torch, sticking her arm with a throwing knife, pistol whipping her twice in the head, hitting her with a metal baton and punching her in the eye.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

“It was pretty severe,” said Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Ashley Peters. “And obviously it constituted enough probable cause for the DA for a warrant to be issued.”

Originally, the victim was hesitant to come forward and tell her story, according to court documents. She was at one time listed as missing, but when officers contacted her, she didn’t disclose her injuries or any abuse.

It wasn’t until later, when her boyfriend of five years stopped by a friend’s house, that she decided to escape to a hospital.

Reluctantly, she agreed to tell officers what happened.

Janet Peery, CEO of the YWCA, says fear isn’t uncommon in domestic abuse victims.

“They believe it’s their fault, they believe they deserve it, and they still love the perpetrator,” she said. “They don’t love the abuse.”

Yet some of the most dangerous moments in an abusive relationship are when a victim decides to leave, or even thinks about leaving.

Peery wants people to know there are others who want to help. The YWCA has a 24/7 hotline set up and shelters to protect the abused and vulnerable. The hotline number is 1-800-522-SAFE.

“There’s help, there is a way out, there are resources,” Peery said.

The key, Peery said, is creating an environment in which victims are comfortable going forward.

“Listening to that victim’s fear and acknowledging that instinct is probably one of the key factors in keeping her safe,” she said. “You have to tell someone and for the community, we have to listen.”

Officers caught up with Mance June 7, after running license plates at a local hotel. They arrested him at gunpoint and found the screwdriver and torch in his car, which has been impounded.

His criminal history includes a misdemeanor conviction for domestic abuse as well as past felony convictions.

Identity Theft Stillwater, MN Man Charged With Theft of 22 Id’s

A man is charged for his role in the theft of 22 individual identities across the metro area over the past four months.

Washington County prosecutors say 26-year-old Damien Alexander McVay was one of two individuals that broke into cars at country clubs, fitness centers and other places where victims were more likely to leave purses and wallets in their vehicles. Investigators say they used a tool known as a ‘window punch’ to quickly and quietly break a window on the vehicle, then steal a wallet or purse and immediately use the credit cards inside before the owner could cancel them.

Prosecutors maintain McVay and his associate did this on at least 22 occasions.

http://liarcatchers.com/identity_theft_investigation.html

Police used surveillance video to identify the two suspects, who targeted victims in Washington, Ramsey and Hennepin Counties.

“This is the type of organized criminal activity that too often misses the attention of the public,” Orput said in a released statement. “Identity Theft however, is a pernicious and time consuming crime for the victim, as well as society as a whole. This office is committed to taking a hard line on cases such as this in hopes that this type of crime is deterred.”
