Missing Person Father of Missing FL Girl, Stabs Self

The father of a nine-year-old Miami girl who was reported missing this week along with her mother has stabbed himself, reports the Miami Herald.

Police have said foul play is a possibility in the disappearance of South Florida woman Liliana Moreno, 43, and her 9-year-old daughter Daniela.

Media outlets are reporting that Moreno’s sister in Colombia contacted police in the Miami suburb of Doral on Tuesday after she had not heard from them in days. Authorities say the girl hasn’t been in school since last Thursday. Police found Liliana Moreno’s purse, wallet and car at her Doral apartment, reports the Miami Herald.

Police launched a massive search for mother and daughter, searching Dumpsters, lakes, wooded areas and a warehouse.

Friday, police say they found the child’s father Gustavo Castano in a truck in the parking lot of a Miami-area Home Depot, distraught and having apparently cut himself with a knife. It was the same Home Depot where Castano reportedly told investigators he dropped the mother and daughter off on Monday, according to CBS Miami. Police were seen searching a retention pond behind the store.

CBS Miami reports Castano was being treated at a hospital for self-inflicted wounds. He was listed in stable condition.

Police are calling Castano a person of interest, reports the Herald.

Private Detective: Lexington Church Burglarized

A Lexington church is in need of help after the pastor woke up Friday morning to find the building had been burglarized and thousands of dollars worth of electronics were stolen.

A woman who lives just across the street from New Day Community Church on Martin Luther King Boulevard said she heard the sound of glass breaking early in the morning.

She first called police, then Pastor Lucian Booker.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

“She told us that they broke in and the window was busted but I didn’t expect to see what I saw once I got here,” said Booker.

Booker said the thief took off with two digital cameras, two tripods, and a keyboard worth more than $2,000.

“It’s probably 6 feet long. It’s a pretty heavy keyboard so I don’t know how they took it and ran down the street with it but they did,” said Booker.

The pastor said he believes after the person grabbed the keyboard and the cameras, they unlocked the front door and left that way.

When police showed up… the front door was still unlocked.

Booker said it’s hard to imagine what kind of person would do this to a church.

“Wow. I mean my heart was broken to see that. But for somebody to do this… there aren’t a whole lot of words. It’s just simply somebody has issues,” said Booker.

He said it’s even harder to think about the cost of replacement.

“We just want the stuff back. We’re a smaller ministry so whenever you have to deal with stuff like this… you feel the blow,” said Booker.
