A 37-year-old McHenry man has been sentenced to 27 years in prison for sexually assaulting a child, prosecutors said Monday.

Joshua Lulow pleaded guilty to predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, according to a news release. He was charged with “committing acts of sexual penetration against a child under the age of 13 between the years of 2008 and 2014.

Lulow, a registered sex offender, was previously convicted of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in 2008. In that case, Lulow was 29 years old at the time of the offense and the victim was 6 years old.

A man charged in connection to a string of burglaries and arsons pleaded not guilty to his charge in court Wednesday morning.

John Roth, 38, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.  The arrest was made as a result of a joint investigation between multiple agencies. KSP troopers say that one hour after the Madison County fire Monday, two men went into a Jessamine County pawn shop with things taken from the home.

The owner of Sam’s Pawn Shop in Nicholasville says it wasn’t the first time the two men had come in to sell items. However, the items from Monday’s fire came back in as stolen when they were entered in a database.

Roth pleaded not guilty in a Jessamine County courtroom.

Troopers say more charges are pending.

A 17-year-old was also charged with arson. Troopers do not know the relationship between the two men.

Investigators also say they found the vehicle they were looking for in connection to the arsons in five counties, all of which were very similar and police believed they were all connected.

Officers are on the lookout for a suspect following a robbery in Lexington.

It happened just after 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning on Appian Way, not far from Centre Parkway. Police say a man was walking along the road when he was approached from behind.

The man tells police he turned around and saw the suspect had a gun and was demanding money.

He handed over cash and the suspect ran off. The suspect was 5’8 with short hair and was between 25-to-30 years old.

Police in Lexington are investigating a bank robbery that happened Tuesday.

It happened at the City National Bank on Walden Avenue just before noon.

They say that the bank was robbed by three black males, ages 18-24 walked into the bank, brandished a weapon and demanded cash.

One of the three men was wearing a Captain America mask and sweatshirt, he had the gun. The other two men were in sweatshirts as well, one in yellow, the other in gray.

The K-9 Unit was brought out to try and track them down but it was a person nearby who gave police a good clue. The witness said that the trio ran towards the woods and got into a black hatchback.

A Bullhead City man has been jailed after his stepdaughter reported alleged sexual abuse from more than a decade ago.

Michael Lee Lepker, 60, faces charges of sexual assault, molestation of a child and continuous molestation of a child.

The victim, now an adult, reported that Lepker molested her while they lived in Bullhead City, police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said.

The abuse allegedly started when she was 11 and continued every other day until she was 15, according to Fromelt.

The victim reportedly told police that she recently was finally ready to talk about what had happened to her. There is no statute of limitations regarding sex crimes against child under the age of 15, according to Arizona state statutes.

Police detectives interviewed Lepker on Wednesday, after which he was arrested.

He was booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman.

Lepker was being held without bond and awaiting a May 13 appearance in Bullhead City Justice Court, county sheriff’s office spokeswoman Trish Carter said.

The N.C. Center for Missing Persons has issued a Silver Alert for a missing endangered man, Luigi Aloysuis Pontes.

Citizens are asked to be on the lookout for Luigi Aloysuis Pontes, who is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

Pontes is described as a 55-year-old white male, 5’6″ tall, weighing 170 lbs with gray, short hair.

York County deputies arrested a man in connection with a body that was found in a trash can near a Newport News business over the weekend.

Michael Kerlin has been charged with unlawful concealment of a dead body.

Deputies say someone found the body of a 46-year-old female inside a trash can and called it a suspicious death. A spokesperson for the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s office said they believe it is related to the case of missing 46-year-old Michelle Hull.

Lt. Dennis Ivey from the Sheriff’s Office told 10 On Your Side, family members filed a missing persons case for Hull over the weekend. Her family told authorities that they last saw her on May 5.

Deputies had planned to search the area around 500 Muller Lane — near the Dixie Fuels company building — on Sunday.

Before York County Deputies could get there, someone stumbled across a trash can with the body of a woman inside.

Investigators taped off the one-story building and collected evidence at the scene Sunday. A spokesperson said officers connected it to the York County missing person investigation within hours.

York County deputies detained Michael Kerlin, owner and president of Dixie Fuels, in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 8 on a public intoxication charge.

Capt. Troy Lyons with the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office says Kerlin was a person of interest in missing persons case of Hull as of Saturday, May 7.

Kerlin is due in court for a preliminary hearing on July 5.
