Wrongful Death Man Arrested in Connection to Fatal Hit and Run

Investigators in Mercer County believe they have found the person who hit and killed a woman early Sunday morning. 21-year-old Matthew Warner is in custody in Boyle County facing several charges in connection to the incident.

Just after 2 a.m. on highway 127 near junction 1160, the Mercer County sheriff says 38-year-old Heather Lawrence was hit by a Dodge pick-up truck and pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say they recovered that truck, along with evidence linking it to the incident.

Accident Reconstruction Coroner Id’s Man Killed in Crash

The Fayette County coroner says one man was pronounced dead and another sent to the hospital in the single vehicle accident. It happened around 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

The coroner says a car was traveling outbound on Athens Boonesboro Road when it appears as though the driver lost control. The car rolled over several times and the passenger of the vehicle was ejected and was pronounced dead on the scene.

The passenger has been identified as Robert Nicholas Kaige Rucker, 22. Rucker, known as Nick to his friends and family, was an EKU student. He graduated from West Jessamine High School in 2012. He was a football player.

Rucker was a PFC for the Danville 103rd Brigade Support Battalion.

“The vehicle left the road in the straight stretch and then down in the valley there is a curve, but the car went straight. So, it looks like he couldn’t keep it in the road from the high rate of speed he was traveling,” said Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn.

Right now, Lexington police say its unclear whether or not the driver will face any charges.

“That’s part of the investigative process that reconstruction is doing right now. They’ll be the ones to make that decision,” said Lexington Police Lieutenant Matthew Greathouse.

Identity Theft Suspect Says He’s Too Smart to be Caught

The search is on for a man stealing people’s identities in Jefferson County, who deputies say told them he’s too smart to be caught.

Tony Canterberry is facing four counts of identity theft. He’s been arrested before – we were provided a mugshot from an unrelated case.

Investigators accuse Canterberry of stealing the identity of an employee working for a tax software company. Deputies say he then posed as that employee in order to take advantage of the customers.

http://liarcatchers.com/identity_theft_investigation.html

One customer told deputies that he originally called the company to resolve a tax issue. The customer says the employee answering the phone was rude, and even sent him emails threatening to destroy his identity.

Detectives say they connected Canterberry to the emails. They contacted him and asked him to come in and talk to them.

“You know he’s telling our investigators that he’s got superior intelligence and that’s why we won’t catch him,” said Chief Deputy Randy Christian. “So for that reason alone, I like our chances of getting to lock him up and we’re gonna look forward to that.”

Deputies say when they find Canterberry, he will face a $340,000 bond. If you know where he is, call Crime Stoppers at 254-7777.

Missing Person Michael J Ward of Bridgeton, MO

The Bridgeton Police Department has issued an “endangered person” advisory for a man with schizophrenia who was last seen March 17, when he was discharged from DePaul Hospital.

Michael J. Ward, 57, is described as a black male with brown eyes and medium complexion, just over 6 feet tall and 223 pounds. Ward’s family has not seen him since he was discharged, and it is unknown if he has any of his medications, police said.

Anyone who sees Ward or has information him should immediately dial 911 or call the Bridgeton Police Department at 314-739-7557.

Alerts have been issued before for fragile patients after they left the hospital. In January, when overnight temperatures dropped to about 7 degrees, a homeless man could not be found after he was discharged just before midnight.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Stanley Higgins Jr., then 25, who police said suffered from memory loss and seizures, left the hospital on foot. He was found the next night, but family members had been upset they weren’t contacted about his release. A hospital spokeswoman at the time could not discuss specifics, but said the hospital offers shelter after people are discharged.

In December, a man found dead in a drainage ditch was identified as a patient who had walked away from DePaul against medical advice in October. That man, Remy Anthony Gooldy, 54, had been treated for worsening dementia and a recent stroke.
