Private Detective: Mason Co. Man Accused of Destroying Cemetery

A Mason County man is accused of destroying a cemetery on his farm.

The farm land along Clift Pike Road off Highway 68 at one time was a cemetery from the 1700s.

“Those people were laid to rest there and that’s their space, their place to be, and I don’t think it’s right for anyone to come in and disturb that if that’s what happened,” said neighbor Gerald Woods.

The land owner, Richard Huber, is accused of destroying the monuments where an estimated 15-20 people were laid to rest.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

An indictment was handed down Friday following more than a yearlong investigation by the Mason County Sheriff’s Department.

Huber told the detectives that he was uprooting trees that had grown in the same area, but he added he didn’t destroy the headstones and placed the blame on hunters and animals.

Deputies say the family cemetery featured graves with the names McIlvain and Yancy.

Huber will be issued a summons for March 11 in Mason Circuit Court.

Violating graves is a Class D Felony, punishable by up to five years if convicted.

If you know anyone who may be buried in this area, you’re asked to give the Mason County Sheriff’s Department a call.

Private Detective: FBI Louisville Announces Recipient of Director’s Community Leadership Award

Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Howard S. Marshall is pleased to announce Robert Asseo as the 2015 recipient of the FBI’s Director’s Community Leadership Award (DCLA) for the Louisville Division.

The FBI presents this award annually on behalf of its Director, James B. Comey. Established in 1990, the award honors individuals and organizations for their efforts to prevent crime, terrorism, drugs, and violence and to further law enforcement efforts in their communities. Each year, the SAC of each of the FBI’s 56 field offices selects an honoree that made a significant difference in the lives of others.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

A native of Puerto Rico, Mr. Asseo arrived in the Northern Kentucky area in 1986, speaking only broken English. He is currently a field service manager at Delta Air Lines and Commissioner of the 6th District for the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights.

Mr. Asseo has played a crucial role in bridging relations between local minority communities, law enforcement, and various government entities. He selflessly volunteered his time to provide translation assistance to local law enforcement and successfully meditated potential civil rights concerns. Mr. Asseo also assisted the FBI in expanding our Northern Kentucky inroads into such crucial programs as civil rights, human trafficking, victim assistance, and greater awareness of public corruption.

A presentation of the award will be held on February 29, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, Concourse B, ACS conference room. In April, Mr. Asseo will also join DCLA recipients selected by other FBI field offices across the nation at an award ceremony held in Washington, D.C.
