Pedophile Tracking Lexington Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Distribution of Child Porn

A Lexington man was sentenced to ten years in federal prison after admitting to distributing child pornography images on the internet.

23-year-old Joshua Gilley was ordered him to serve a lifetime term of supervised release and ordered that he register as a sex offender, following his release from prison.

Under federal law, Gilley must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence. According to his plea agreement, between 2012 and 2013, Gilley distributed numerous child pornography images to others, via email.

Gilley admitted that a search warrant at his home revealed thousands of child pornography images, including more than 900 sexual abuse images of prepubescent children. The case started when an FBI investigator noticed child pornography images being distributed online. The FBI later traced the source of those images to a computer that was operated by Gilley.

Private Detective: Prestonsburg Police Discover Active Meth Lab in Their Parking Lot

Prestonsburg police didn’t have to go far for a drug bust Thursday morning.

A trip to the police station for an impounded car turned into a criminal investigation for a mother and son and 2 others around 2 a.m. when police noticed something unusual about the group

“When your own 911 dispatch, who’s your life line out here, on the road yells at you at the radio ‘hey something’s not right with these people in the parking lot,” said Officer Ross Shurtleff.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

When officers took a closer look at the vehicle they said, in clear sight, they could see an active meth lab inside a water bottle “cooking” between the feet of Dwight Collins.

“That’s just insane why would anyone go to a police station and do that?” asked Brittany Dixon, store clerk.

But when Officer Shurtleff asked Collins what he had, he said Collins lied.

“It’s a bottle of water was the response I got and as we all know water doesn’t arc,” said Officer Shurtleff.

According the arrest citation, police said the meth lab was “omitting a distinct and disturbing odor”.

“I even tried to explain it in a way of ‘who would cook meth in a police parking lot?'” said Officer Shurtleff.

But there’s more, some also had several other forms of drugs on them so the Prestonsburg police parking lot was transformed into a decontamination area.

Connie Collins, her son Dwight Collins, Britney Owsley and Justin Horner were all taken to the Floyd County Detention Center where they face several drug related charges.

“I have to admit this took me by a little bit of surprise,” said Officer Shurtleff

But others who live in Prestonsburg said it was an eye-opener about their community.

“This is a little small town you don’t really hear about it much,” Dixon said. “But it’s definitely something to think about.”

Officer Shurtleff said he had arrested Collins the previous night and Owsley had an active arrest warrant.

Private Detective: Montgomery Co. Sheriff Looking For Help Identifying Robber

The Montgomery County Sheriff is asking for the public’s help in identifying an armed man who robbed two businesses recently.

He’s accused of robbing the Eastland Grocery Store around 9:30 Saturday night. The sheriff says that the man snuck in as the store was closing or the evening and the store clerk was cleaning up.

Sheriff Fred Shortridge says that he had a gun. The clerk was not hurt but the man got away with cash.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

Two days later, Shortridge says the same man hit the Family Dollar in town on Maysville Road.

“The only difference in between those is that in the Family Dollar, my understanding there was several people inside the business, which didn’t bother him at all. So, he just walks in and commits the robbery with the people inside the store,” said Shortridge.

In both robberies, Shortridge says that he was very nonchalant; giving the impression that he’d committed a crime before.

If you recognize the man, please call the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Wrongful Death Scott County Man’s Murder Conviction Overturned

A Scott County man has had his murder conviction overturned after the Supreme Court of Kentucky ruled that his confession should have not been used in court.

A circuit court jury convicted James Anthony Gray of two counts of murder for intentionally killing his parents, James and Vivian Gray. The Grays were shot to death in their Sadieville home on April 26, 2007.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Gray’s first trial ended in a hung jury.

According to the release from the Supreme Court, James Anthony Gray’s confession was obtained illegally. The document states that one of the interrogating officers, told Gray that he had just gotten off the phone with a judge and that the state would seek the death penalty if he didn’t confess. That conversation was determined to never have taken place.

The documents also state that police also turned the interrogation camera off for nearly five-and-half hours.

“After a break, he returned to the interview room and signed a Miranda waiver. Upon his return, the room was arrayed with photos of the crime scene and murder victims. A piece of pecan pie and a Pepsi were placed on the table to recreate the crime-scene environment. The police turned off the camera and five-and-a-half hours of unrecorded interrogation proceeded from that point. Gray alleges he was coerced into confessing to the crimes within this period.”

Interrogators also allegedly presented Gray with a fake document purporting to originate from the Kentucky State Police linking his parents’ DNA to his vehicle

Private Detective: Pulaski Co. Woman Accused of Abusing Corpse Pleads Not Guilty

The Pulaski County woman accused of abusing the corpse of her boyfriend at their home last year pleaded not guilty to all charges against her.

51-year-old Teresa Owens went before a judge Thursday to be read her formal charges. Owens’ public defender entered not guilty to all of the counts.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

Owens says she found her boyfriend, 68-year-old Gary Jenks, dead of a stroke back in September of 2015 and decided to freeze him that same day.

She told investigators that she bought the freezer from  Lowe’s and had it delivered the day after Jenks died. She says she put lye, an odorless chemical, on the body to keep the smell down.

Shortly after his death, a relative reported Jenks missing. Police say Owens also mentioned to family members that she had been sleeping in a tent in the yard due to a smell coming from her home

Investigators later found Jenk’s body inside of a freezer in the Pulaski County home with his arms and legs tied together. Owens told police she panicked and didn’t know what to do when her boyfriend died.

Her next court date will be March 17.
