Wrongful Death Police Hope For Info in Unsolved Murders From 2016

Police say that in 2016, Lexington saw the highest number of murders since 2001, and nearly half of those cases are still unsolved.

There were 24 murders in Lexington in 2016. This is the highest number since 2001 when 27 people were killed.

Ten of the 24 murders from 2016 are unsolved crimes.

While solving these cases may never undo the pain for the families, it may at least give them closure.

“The pain that was there day one is still here, day 40,” said Tamara Coleman.

http://liarcatchers.com/wrongful_death.html

Tamara’s 22-year-old daughter, Maryiah Coleman, was shot and killed in early September while walking her dog in the Winburn neighborhood. Maryiah was eight months pregnant at the time. Her unborn son, Jakobe, also died.

Detectives have said several people were involved in the shooting, but there have been no arrests and they have no suspects.

Tamara Coleman has led her own call of support for the community to ask them for more peace, more safety, and any answers.

In 2017, Lexington Police and Bluegrass Crime Stoppers are calling on those in the community who have any information to speak up.

You can leave an anonymous tip with the Bluegrass Crime Stoppers by calling (859) 253-2020 or by visiting their website here.

Missing Person Family of Missing Nicholas County Woman Raising Reward Funds

Rescue crews continued the search for 58-year-old Lori Feltz Saturday.

The area surrounding Feltz’s home on Hick Hardy Road in Nicholas County has been searched since Feltz went missing last week.

Feltz suffers from medical issues stemming from a 1978 car crash. More than a dozen agencies have converged on the area using everything from horses to helicopters to help with the search since Monday.

“Even the ponds and any of the water ways have been searched. Culverts, everything within a couple mile radius,” Feltz’s brother-in-law Brett Hartman told LEX 18.

http://liarcatchers.com/missing_persons_investigations.html

Feltz’s family says the extensive search has helped them rule out that she is in the area. Instead, they believe she may have tried to flag down a ride to an adult daycare center in Georgetown that she attends. The center was closed Monday for the holiday.

“Instead of walking up the gravel drive to see her sister, she was thinking she missed her bus to go to the daycare center,’ said Hartman.

Having been without her medication for more than five days, Feltz’s family stresses this is a critical medical emergency. Anyone who may have seen her is asked to call 911.

A GoFundMe page has been setup to help raise money for a $10,000 reward for information that leads to Feltz.
