Two brothers from Colts Neck — Anhuar Bandy and Karim Bandy —who already admitted in 2015 to operating an auto insurance fraud ring, were hit with a new lawsuit Tuesday.
This new suit was filed by the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance, along with Allstate auto insurance company, which wants to be reimbursed for claims it paid out under the Bandys’ admitted earlier fraud.
In May of 2014, Bandy, his brother Karim, and ten others were arrested. Prosecutors said they started an auto insurance fraud scheme in 2009: The brothers paid illegal “runners” to recruit motor vehicle accident victims as patients for their chiropractic facilities. The brothers also received kickbacks from certain medical providers and personal injury attorneys in exchange for referring their illegally-acquired patients to those businesses.

The brothers owned chiropractic clinics in Camden, Hudson, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Ocean and Union counties. However, neither Bandy brother is a licensed chiropractor or medical doctor.
On July 7, 2015, Anhuar and Karim Bandy both pleaded guilty to insurance fraud in the second degree.
The newest suit accuses Anhuar Bandy of masterminding a sophisticated, widespread personal injury mill involving 78 defendants. The new lawsuit also names Plainfield personal injury lawyer David Walker, Esq., of Rockaway and his paralegal Alexandra Gallegos of Piscataway. Both Walker and Gallegos were among those arrested in 2014. The suit alleges that Walker and Gallegos paid kickbacks to Bandy in exchange for referring clients to their firm.
In the new suit, the state of New Jersey is seeking a fine from the Bandy brothers and Allstate is seeking reimbursement for insurance benefits it paid out under their fraud scheme.
