Wrongful Death Oklahoma Man Charged With Murder in Baby’s Death

An Oklahoma City man has been charged with first-degree murder and dozens of sex crimes, accused of killing a 13-year-old’s infant son to stop rumors that he was the boy’s father.

Oklahoma County prosecutors allege Ron Deshawn Turner, 29, smothered the 18-day-old child Aug. 23 inside an Oklahoma City house. Police reported Turner admitted to taking a pillow and holding it over the boy’s face for 10 seconds.

Turner told police the girl had tried to suffocate the boy before he did but she was unable to, police reported in a court affidavit. The 13-year-old girl said Turner suffocated her son, Prince Williams, in front of her, police reported.

She said she watched Turner place a plastic bag over the boy’s head to attempt to suffocate him, according to the affidavit. She said Turner used the pillow when the bag didn’t work, police reported.

Turner told the girl “if she said anything about what he did, then she would be lying next to her son,” police reported. Turner also told the girl “this would stop the family rumors in reference to him being (the boy’s) biological father,” according to the affidavit.

The girl told police she thought Turner was her son’s father. Several family members also felt Turner was the boy’s father, police reported.

When asked to take a paternity test, Turner agreed but it was discovered later that his friend had pretended to be him for the test. The friend said Turner asked him to take the DNA test.

Sexual abuse allegations

Turner is accused of sexually abusing the 13-year-old girl and up to four other girls between August 2015 and August 2016. He was charged Tuesday with 49 felonies, including the murder count, 39 counts of sexual abuse of a child and four counts of first-degree rape.

Stephen Alexander Weeden, 27, of Oklahoma City, also was charged with Turner. Weeden was charged with six counts of first-degree rape, accused of having sex with the 13-year-old girl.

Police reported the 13-year-old girl said both men had sex with her multiple times. She said Weeden never had sex with her unless Turner made him, police reported. She also said Weeden would guard the bedroom door when she and Turner would have sex, police reported.

The girl said she sent nude photos to Turner and he also took some of her, police reported. She told a police detective that “she knows what Turner did was wrong but she doesn’t want him to go to jail,” according to an affidavit.

Turner is being held without bail in the Oklahoma County jail. Weeden is being held on $200,000 bail.
