Liar Catchers asked ” How do I know if I am being surveilled “.

Client asked us ” What can I do if I suspect someone is watching me?” Liar catchers surveillance suggests immediately establishing the “best” spot if you were watching you come and go from your home. Remember they would have high powered zoom so 1/2 mile away is no problem for them. Usually elevated position that can see if you go one way or the other.

http://liarcatchers.com/electronic_surveillance.html

Once you have established the perfect position, start looking at that spot before you leave the home every time. If you have been driving radically, perhaps check that spot upon your return home. If there is EVER a vehicle parked there, capture a photo of the license plate ( first ) and driver or passenger if there is one. You can walk right up to the vehicle if you are inclined to take the photo, as this will usually end that agents surveillance immediately knowing they have been made. You can never be too cautious. Client feels informed, Liar Catchers happy, Surveillance agent looking at this Client….. Smile for the camera.

Pedophile Tracking Colorado Springs Man Arrested

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Detectives arrested a Colorado Springs man Wednesday as a suspect for a number of sex crimes that involved juveniles.

Through an investigation initiated by the Colorado Springs Police Vice and Trafficking team, detectives said they established probable cause to arrest Steven Douglas Leeper, 18, for soliciting juvenile girls for sex through various digital media outlets.

Detectives said they identified Leeper after interviewing several victims out of 200 potential victims.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

On Wednesday, at approximately 6:45 p.m., detectives arrested Leeper and charged him with multiple felony crimes, including sexual exploitation of a child, solicitation for child prostitution, inducement of child prostitution, patronizing of a prostituted child, Internet luring of a child, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and criminal extortion.

Investigators said Leeper used social media, including Facebook and MeetMe, to contact both adults and underage girls. Through these digital outlets, he asked for sexually explicit images and videos from the victims. These requests often led to Leeper asking to meet in person for the purpose of sex, said investigators. He also offered to pay for the photographs and personal meetings.

Detectives said they believe there may be other victims who have yet to identify themselves, and are asking for anyone with information on this case to contact 303-444-7508.

Pedophile Tracking Massachusetts Man Accused of Enticing Child to Make Video

A Massachusetts man is accused of enticing a 10-year-old Albany County child to make sexually explicit videos of himself and email them to him, federal authorities said Friday.

Brian Belanger, 21, of Worcester, using the nickname “zombieshadow,” met the child online through PlayStation 3, the officials said. Belanger said through the game’s headset feature that if the child sent the videos it would help prevent someone from trying to kill Belanger, then he told the child what to do in the videos, officials said. Over about three months the child emailed Belanger several times, attaching video files showing sexually explicit conduct, officials said.

http://liarcatchers.com/pedophile_tracking.html

On Jan. 25, the child’s father found the emails and videos on the child’s iPad, eventually leading to Belanger’s arrest at his home, which was announced Friday by U.S. Attorney Richard S. Hartunian, FBI Special Agent in Charge Andrew W. Vale of the Albany Division and Colonie Police Chief Steven Heider.

Belanger appeared Friday afternoon in U.S. District Court in Albany before U.S. Magistrate Judge Randolph F. Treece and was ordered detained pending a detention hearing scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday.

Authorities said Belanger faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years in prison, a maximum penalty of 30 years, potential fines of up to $250,000 and a required term of supervised release of at least five years and up to life.

A conviction would also require Belanger to register as a sex offender, officials said.

Identity Theft Ring in Boulder, CO

Police in Boulder are warning people to lock their vehicle doors and remove all valuables items like purses and wallets when leaving those vehicles because they could be a target for an ID theft ring.

The theft ring is believed to be involved in three cases in Boulder and more than 50 cases in other jurisdictions around the Denver metro area. So far the thieves are responsible for approximately $100,000 in thefts.

http://liarcatchers.com/identity_theft_investigation.html

Investigators believe at least two male suspects forcibly enter victim vehicles by breaking windows and then stealing purses and wallets which were left visible in the cars.

The suspects then deposit and cash the victim’s checks using the stolen IDs and often use wigs and other disguises when dealing with banks.

Paula Pearlman is a victim who is dealing with all the issues that come from having your identity stolen which includes cancelling her bank accounts.

“First thing I did was call the bank because I knew that’s what they were after more than anything,” said Pearlman. “I immediately knew my purse was gone.”

Police in Boulder said the break-ins happen even when the victim is gone for a short time.

“That victim had taken her dog and was going to go for a hike when she came back from her hike, her window was smashed,” said Boulder Police spokeswoman Kim Kobel.

“If you plan to leave your purse for any length of time you can’t do it,” said Pearlman.

Police believe the suspects are targeting fitness centers like Boulder Lifetime Fitness and 24 Hour Fitness. They look for valuables inside cars and break the windows. When they’re lucky they find a checkbook.

“There was my checkbook so they’ve written $12,000 worth of checks,” said Pearlman.

It’s believed the suspects are using newer-model SUVs when they make deposits at drive-up bank windows. Some of the vehicles that have been used include a new mint-green Ford Explorer with tinted windows, a white SUV and a black Infinity SUV.

Photos of suspects who appear to be females but police believe they are men. It’s possible that the suspects in the photos are wearing wigs or are otherwise disguised.

“I think there are some questions about whether they are men and they’re going through the drive thru and disguising themselves as women, wearing wigs, etc.” said Kobel.

During the past two weeks the suspects have trespassed into vehicles and stolen IDs every single day somewhere in the Denver metro area.

Anyone with information about the crimes or the suspects is asked to call the Boulder Police Department at 303-441-3333 or to email us at BouldersMostWanted@bouldercolorado.gov.

Those who have information but wish to remain anonymous may contact the Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or 1-800-444-3776. Tips can also be submitted through the Crime Stoppers website at www.crimeshurt.com.

Identity Theft Filing Income Tax Return Early Could Lower Risk

Better Business Bureau advises consumers to file their 2013 income tax returns as soon as possible to avoid losing a refund to an identity thief.

With all of the personal information contained in tax documents, criminals will try every trick in the book to obtain these documents in order to get Social Security numbers and intercept refunds.

The Internal Revenue Service reports a 66 percent increase in its investigations into this kind of crime in 2013 over the previous year.

http://liarcatchers.com/identity_theft_investigation.html

Tax identity theft victims typically find out about the crime when they get a letter from the IRS saying that more than one tax return was filed in the their name, or IRS records show they received wages from an employer they don’t know. The criminals accomplish this by stealing personal information or applying for employment in the victim’s name and claiming a refund. Once their work is done, a legitimate refund request will be denied. Undoing the damage and receiving the refund can take months.

Personal information can be obtained by going through trash, stealing documents from mailboxes and sending emails that look like they originate from the IRS. In some cases, dishonest tax preparers misuse clients’ information or sell it to identity thieves.

To lessen the chance of becoming victim:

• File tax return early in the tax season, before identity thieves do.

• Use only a secure Internet connection if filing electronically. Don’t use publicly available Wi-Fi hotspots at places like coffee shops or hotel lobbies.

• Shred copies of your tax return, drafts or calculation sheets you no longer need.

• If you intend to mail your tax return, put it in a USPS mailbox or drop it off at the post office, to prevent it from being intercepted from your roadside mailbox.

• Respond to all mail from the IRS as soon as possible.

• Remember that the IRS won’t contact you by email, text or social media. If the IRS needs information, they will contact you by mail.

• Don’t leave W-2’s in unsecure locations like your office or car.

• Get recommendations and research a tax preparer thoroughly at bbb.org before you hand over personal information.

• Don’t give out your Social Security or Medicare number unless necessary. Ask why it’s needed, how it’s going to be used and how it will be stored.

• Check your credit report at least once a year for free at annualcreditreport.com to make sure no other accounts have been opened in your name. Remember, Georgia consumers are entitled to two free copies of their credit reports each year.
