Lexington police arrested a man after a woman suffered a stab wound to the head Sunday night.
Police and EMS responded to Peachtree Road, off Woodhill Drive, around 10:45 p.m. They found a woman in a yard suffering from a stab wound to the back of the head. Officers say she was alert and talking. EMS took her to UK Hospital, and officials say they expect her to recover.

Police say they found their suspect in the kitchen of the victim’s home a short time later. Officers say he had blood on his hands. Police arrested Riley Perrin, 61, and charged him with assault.
