The weapon in a recent Lexington robbery caused great discomfort to a bank teller, and Lexington police are urgently investigating all possible leads in the case where a stun gun was used in a bank heist.
The robbery took place May 29th at the Chase Bank on Richmond Road. But so far, Lexington police say the investigation has turned up no leads whatsoever.
“When somebody brings a weapon in and in this case a stun gun and uses it on a clerk or teller,”says Detective Mark Thomas, “that’s stepping it up to a different level.”

That morning, the man walked in, jumped over the teller door and went straight to the first clerk he saw. He demanded money from her drawer and the one next to it.
“It took her a second,” Thomas says. “She was hesitant and she was afraid of what was going on and because she hesitated, this man used a stun gun on her multiple times in the back.”
Witnesses say he was about 6 feet 1 and 180 pounds. The dreads he was wearing could have been a wig. And if not, they may be gone by now, shaved off to hide his link to the case.
Information leading to the man’s arrest could lead to a cash award from Crime Stoppers. Call their tip line at 859.253.2020.
