A four-month-old baby is still recovering from injuries in the intensive care unit at UK Hospital, almost a week after police say she was severely injured by her babysitter.
“She’s a little fighter. I call her my little tough cookie,” said Kylie Jo’s aunt, Lauren Sizemore.
Sunday marked day six of recovery for Kylie Jo.
“She’s made improvements but she still has a long way to go. We’re just hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst,” said Sizemore.

Kylie Jo is suffering a skull fracture, brain damage, broken ribs, a broken leg and has also had several seizures and a stroke. The four-month-old was rushed to the hospital this past Tuesday after Nicholasville Police say her babysitter, Erin Thompson, purposely did this to her.
“We never thought at one point that anything like this would happen due to her being a church member and Sunday school teacher. We just assumed that she was in great hands and come to find out that the exact opposite,” said Sizemore.
Sizemore says Kylie’s parents, her brother and sister-in-law, are taking it day by day.
“Been by her side ever since. And they’re just doing what any other parent would do. Just be strong for her and keep saying your prayers and she’s holding on,” said Sizemore.
This weekend, several businesses showed support by holding fundraisers for the family.
“It’s amazing how people know that something like this, people have to come together, and they really have for them. They appreciate every bit. They really do,” said Sizemore.
Now they’re asking for your thoughts and prayers.
“She’s been a little trooper. Just keep her in your prayers and she’ll make it through,” she said.
This weekend, the SEC Sports Pub in Lexington raised $1,500 for the family, and Wild Cuts in Nicholasville raised almost $700.
